    Binge eating disorder

I agree wholeheartedly that bed sufferers like myself need to get in touch with our head and emotions through therapy before going through surgery if we want this to last and by that I mean the weight loss. I speak first-hand about this as I have bed and did not know that, had gastric bypass surgery 14 years ago and within the first 10 years regained all of my weight. I have now been treated and am still in treatment because it never ends 4 bed and feel much more secure in handling my food and knowing why I eat then I ever have before. Get good therapy and then get the surgery. Good luck

Cheating on pre op liquid diet

I can't answer your question but suggest you take in more protein in the form of meat, ham, pork, beef, etc and this may make your experience more possible. You still have time and I wouldn't want my doctor to stop the surgery before completed. I'm on your same liver reduction 2week diet and it's no fun...you can do it if you've lived overweight for part of your life you are surely strong enough to see this through. I believe in you. Karen

Getting ready to head to the hospital

Best of luck as you lead the way today and will soon be on the other side of the surgery. Good luck and let us hear how it goes. Praying for you.

    Getting sleeved May 16

My surgery is scheduled for June 1st and my liver shrinking diet starts this Thursday for two weeks until surgery. My surgery is in two stages with the first surgery being revision from rn.y and fixing hiatal hernia and second surgery on August 1st being the sleeve. Has anyone ever heard of two stages like this? I am going from gastric bypass revising to sleeve

I am having a reversal of gastric bypass that is 14 years old and not working and hiatal hernia for surgery number one on June 1st and the sleeve on August 1st surgery number 2. I live in the state of Washington just outside of Seattle and my doctor is Doctor billing through ivivva in Edmonds North Seattle.

    Surgery Day Is Here!

Good luck and let us know how it turns out. What kind of surgery did you have and how are you feeling afterwards?
  8. I'm scheduled for gastric bypass reversal surgery with a side order of removing a hiatal hernia on June 1 and a gastric sleeve on August 1st. I need one or more mentor(s) and/or a couple of newbies with surgery soon that can support me and I can support. I am older than most and have bad arthritis so it's hard for me to walk very far now but I know weight loss will help this some. I live in WASHINGTON state and am very scared about this whole thing but I have tried so many diets and weight loss methods, probably just like all of us, and I am desperate. Respond if you'd be able to support me and if not good luck to all of us. Karenytrevision

    June sleeve buddies?

I am June 1 and scared. I start the two week liver shrinkage diet soon and am afraid of it! What if I hate it and is it close to the sleeve permanent diet after surgery?? Karen
  10. My insurance is Fep bcbs and I was over the BMI limits but had a comorbidity too. This was 14 years ago and I had a gastric bypass. Problems later and regained so now I need revision and hiatal hernia surgery then sleeve I live in Kent WA and am using Eviva with Dr Billing. Set for June 1st
  11. I am scheduled to have first of two major surgeries ending in a gastric sleeve (first is to reverse rny and fix hiatal hernia) on June 1st and I am traveling soon after to Las Vegas from Seattle by plane (about June 14). Has anyone traveled by plane that soon after surgery and is it wise or will it be a mistake? What is anyone's experience? Karenytrevision

    June sleeve buddies?

I'd like to be a surgery buddie for May or June surgeries as my surgery #1 is June 1st. Karen
  13. I am really scared too and my surgery date #1 of 2 major surgeries planned is June 1st. Dr. is doing a revision of a faulty rny I've had for 13 years and fixing a hiatal hernia it caused, and in #2 surgery doing a sleeve, possibly later a DS. I am scared if I don't have the surgery and I'm scared if I do!! Anyone having surgery in May or June interested in being a surgery buddy with me? I'm nice, really!! My surgery date is June 1 2017 no the 07-18-2016 show on the profile as it took 3 appeals to get insurance to cover. Karen State of WA

What to take to the Hospital?

So I need to take robe or use II down at hospital and ChapStick and a hair brush or comb at least. Also something for feet when walking add toothpaste and toothbrush and my pillow or stuffed animal or something for loving and comfort. Is that right?
  15. I have June 1st as my surgery #1 date as Dr is doing my revision in different stages on June 1 and later August 1, with a possible third surgery after if he decides to do a DS instead of or after the sleeve. I am using Dr. Billing out of EvivaMD located near Seattle. Anyone (s) want to be surgery pals? Karenyt

  18. What kind of revision can you have after Gastric bypass...I had in 2004 with no followup and regained all weight. Karen
  19. Karenytrevision

    Revision question

What did you revise to? I'm in the same pre-open condition with a 2005 rny and Dr wants to revise to sleeve.

Over 60 and having the sleeve

I am new to this board but as I am 64 and waiting to complete all paperwork to apply to BCBS FEP for insurance coverage of revision from failed rny to sleeve I hope I am welcome here? I am scared insurance won't cover and even if they would normally they may just wait out the clock until I turn 65 and go on medicare in late October. Anything anyone can tell me about the sleeve would help my scared nerves to hear. Karenytrevision CW 296. Surgeon goal 220. My goal 160

    New here.

I am also new here but have read many posts for a while and this is my first posting. I am asking my insurance company to pay for a revision surgery due to weight regain and complications from a 10 year old gastric bypass. I have regained most of my weight loss after much hard work to lose the weight and I have an unhappy ulcer and a hiatal hernia. I had no care after surgery as my wls center closed down soon after my operation. If I get a second chance I will feel very fortunate and take care of my eating and behavioral issues this time.
