I keep getting a feeling in my chest like a squeeze then I usually burp. I'm so scared I'm doing something wrong to my band. It feels like a big gas bubble is coming up in the middle of my chest but it only results in a small burp if any at all. It usually starts on the right side of my body and moves to the middle of my chest. I am sipping but and it's not only happening when I drink. Is this just gas or is something worng? I've been banded since wednesday.

Good Morning all you July 9th Bandsters! Today is our day!!!! I just wanted to mention that even though I am nervous about surgery, being put under is GREAT. You'll actually go to the hospital and once your IV is in, they will give you Versed to relax you. Trust me, when they wheel you into the operating room you aren't going to care or be nervous. I've been put to sleep 3 other times and it's a breeze. I know that the hardest part of the surgery for my nerves is going to be the first few minutes at the hospital. WOO HOO for us all! Today is the first day of our new life!!

I've been on all liquids for the past 2 weeks. There really isn't anything in there to clean out. I would imagine an enema is for people who aren't required to do a preop diet

Argh! I just started the second week of my 2 week preop diet and I can't stop dreaming of food. Last night I was trying to liquify a cheez-it then this afternoon when I took a nap I was chowing down on ice cream. Dreaming of food only makes me feel guilty and hungry.

my short term goal is to be able to wear my wedding ring again. I can't wait!

I'm on week 2 of my pre-op liquids and I haven't cheated. In fact, there was some black bean skins in my soup the other night and I felt horrible for eating them because I have explicit instructions not to eat ant "chunks or pieces" The only thing that keeps me from not cheating is knowing how dissapoined I would be in myself. I've spent 20 years of my life being dissapointed in myself because of food. It's time to stop. Good luck on your surgery, don't stray again and IMO you should mention your indescretion to your doctor.

My surgeon does something similar called an iDEXA scan. I will get one 6 mo post op too. It helps my Dr. make sure I am losing fat instead of muscle. For me it was a huge motivator. There is a skinny person inside of me, I can see her. now I just have to work hard to reveal her.

Talk to your doctor. Some are willing to shift dates around. The worst they can do is say no

I think it's really important to keep in mind that the band as you know is a tool. You can do what you want with it. People who use it and work hard have a fantastic outcome usually and then there are people who "eat around the band" or maybe don't try as hard. Their results may be slower. 2 lbs a week is a good weightloss and you won't risk having to have gallblader issues. Like you, I have a lot of weight to lose. 2 lbs a week makes me thing it will take FOREVER to lose weight. Just remember you didn't gain all your weight overnight it's not going to just go away overnight. You can do it!

I'm in no way trying to be mean so please don't take it like that. I used to smoke and still miss my 20 best friends each day. I quit when I got pregnant with my son. I was terrified that my chest xray was going to reveal cancer. If I had been a smoker still it would have forced me to quit. The only part of your post that is dumb is that you are still smoking. Do yourself a favor and do anything you can to quit now

I have my preop this afternoon and am wondering what kind of questions I should ask my doctor. Any advice?

I'm not a huge fan of chicken broth. I thought the idea of protein flavored chicen broth was gross. I bought a packet of Unjury chicken soup and was shocked. It was fantastic. I just went and ordered a "jar"

Let it be a lesson on why you need to find other ways to express your emotions instead of eating. Def. tell your doctor you cheated.

I don't want to start a "my band is better than your band" debate. My question is, if you were able to pick Realize or Lap-Band what band did you pick and why. Thanks for sharing!

Atkins shakes, 100% Whey Protein from GNC in unflavored and chocolate caramel flavor, Kellogs K2O water and All Bran tea packets, lots of sugar free jello . I also bought soups that I will blend and strain

If there was a way to know taht people wouldn't spend up to a year finding restriction. It's a very individual amount, everyon really is different.

I couldn't be more excited! I start my 2 week pre op liquid diet on the 25th. I am so excited to start my journey

I take an extended relese medication. Will I be able to continue it in the capsule form post op? TIA

3 days They say they can take up to 30 but for the most part all insurance companies seem to process things fast
