  1. I remember when my sisters had Thier surgeries one 15 years ago the other 13. I said the same thing that they took the easy way out. And the skin was pretty awful they both look older after the weight loss but Thier loss was extreme as they were very very obese. But boy I was so wrong about it being easy!! And loose skin can be fixed. Your friend just doesn't understand how much harder this is then a diet. I was the same way. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  2. Wow good to hear this my doctor and insurance will not give anyone with a BMI under 40. Instead the insurance will cover weight watchers for you
  3. Man I just am to scared to eat butter or bacon or sausage any of that. I just can't mentally do it. I bought some soy chorizo today I think I could use a little of that in eggs. I plan to make some chili with it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  4. You are welcome I completely understand i was terrified. As long as you have a BMI 40 or up. You won't be denied. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  5. Lol I can't drink 1 shake in a day. And reread my post I just said I have no room for soup. I have been trying to get this shake down all day and I have half left and I am not going to be successful because now I am full. I am done eating for today. If I try to take in more I will puke. So I am following your advice and am now on a shake only diet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  6. I take 1 egg and I tablespoon of cottage cheese and scramble them together. Best scrambled eggs ever! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  7. We must remember also that we all may not have had the same surgery. Kinda hard to drink a huge amount of anything when you have a tiny pouch. I am not going to force anything. Today I am trying to drink a whole shake I had some for Breakfast some for lunch and I am trying to drink more for dinner. But that made me have no room for anything else. I am to full and I have half a glass left! So unless I am going to be on a liquid shake only diet. This is not going to work for me. I want to have my Soup. 10. You will be fine I had all the same problems. My psychologist and psychiatrist would not do my evaluation they said it is a conflict of interest. So I had to find another one to get approved. And I was honest about my past drug use as well as my anxiety and depression. I did denie ever being suicidal. But I didn't have to tell any of it. But they will ask how long ago you did drugs and how much. Don't worry but it was also my biggest fear. And I got approved. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  11. I am on bipolar medication and one of the tablets is big my doctor said to put pill in my mouth take a sip of Water let it dissolve a little and then swallow it with more water. It works for me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  12. I agree with lipstick lady as well everyone is different and unless you are a doctor I do not know where you get your facts on how well others will do. Or if they are doomed to fail because we are different than you. How much weight have you lost? How many years have you been successful in keeping it off? 13. Mine looks different I had gastric bypass. I have the 6 scars and then a long one a cross my belly button and about an inch past it. That hurts the most as it is right where my pants hit. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  14. My dose has been the same for the 4 years I been on it. I do not know yet if surgery has changed it. I do have a nodule that they watch. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  15. That is exactly why I chose the gastric bypass. The sleeve is to easy to go back to old habits you can't do that on the gastric bypass if you try to eat sugar or anything fried or anything fatty. Like things with a lot of cheese. It will punish you! It is great to kick you in the butt! I have a friend 6 months out on the sleeve she can eat everything and she does the surgery was a complete fail for her she did loose 70 pounds but she is gaining it back. She refuses to go back to the doctor. I think you will be happy with the gastric bypass. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  16. Water taste like perfume to me and it is so sad because it is the only thing I ever drank before surgery. I do not like any flavored anything. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

  18. I think your BMI has to be 40 my doctor would have turned you down also it is because insurance won't approve you. The operation cost Thirty to forty thousand dollars that don't count a lot of other add on stuff. The Insurance company will usually pay for you to go to weight watchers. 19. I had my surgery April 20th I was in pre-op room next thing I know they said Richiele...and I thought ok here we go for surgery and they said no you are done! I said are you kidding? I have no memory of any of it. I stayed 3 days. I was in for my birthday. I also had my own room my husband stayed with me and helped me with going to the bathroom and walking. But I do not remember anything except what my husband says. I had the gastric bypass. The thing I hate most was I a big Water person now it taste like perfume to me. 22. I have 2 friends that are husband and wife. She had the sleeve he had the bypass. She is less restricted and can eat a lot more things without dumping. He cannot do that. She even eats donuts. He likes to eat and has lost lots of weight but wishes he had the sleeve because he wants to be able to eat some of his old favorites. For instance they went to Mc Donald's both ordered happy meals she did fine he had to go lay down the rest of the day he was so sick. So if you want a little less punishment have the sleeve. 23. I had the gastric bypass and yes you can stretch your pouch. If you are full you are full. And I am not stupid I know sleeves don't have a pouch they have some of the stomach removed. I have a tiny pouch I am way more restricted I will dump if I eat to much and sugar and to much carbs will also make me dump. The doctor said eating only 2 or 3 bites of food is normal. And that drinking or eating will stretch my pouch I will slowly be able to take in more. I do need to eat more Protein my diet is open for more food I just really love soup. 24. Chritinamo7 Not everyone is you. Some people are bigger some are smaller some went from eating thousands of calories a day some not. Some of us had the bariatric bypass surgery some had the sleeve. People who had the sleeve are less restricted. If she or you can drink a whole pitcher of shake then that is absolutely fine. But a lot of us can't. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
