  3. " data-cite="Jane" data-ipsquote-timestamp="1467779000"> My coordinator has been nothing but amazing I told her when I want my procedure done and she worked my schedule and made it happen. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App That's awesome! I was actually hoping for the July 20, but my coordinator got me pretty darn close - just a week later. My coordinator is male, young, and quite attractive Mine in July 28th. When is yours? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. 8 weeks and 6 days. Depends on your insurance and surgeons requirements. To make it go faster educate yourself on the process and life changes so when you talking to your surgeon nutritionist and psyc you're more informed and they require less Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. HI EVERYONE! Now don't think I'm weird but I've always been curious about the step by step process of WLS. From first starting the process to it actually happening. This was how it happened for me. Important fact, I have BCBSIL PPO+ and I went to the University of Chicago. May 22 - Decide I was serious about VSG. Found Blue Distention Hospital, UofC and called. May 23 - Online seminar May 30 - Appointment with PCP requested recommendation letter. Also PCP did full blood workup. June 3 - Appointment with PCP got rec. letter and blood results. I requested a copy of workup. June 8 - Met surgeon, dietitian and psych for consultation. Gave them copy of workup June 16 - Got my surgeons requirements, only things of which I already had June 17 - Coordinator sent order for sleep study and scheduled Prep Session June 20 - Sleep lab received my order from coordinator. Faxed coordinator rec. letter from my PCP. Coordinator also submitted the request for predetermination to my insurance. June 22 - Day of Sleep Study. It's important to note I bugged them for days straight they wanted to give me an appointment in Nov. I think it happened so fast because they were tired of me. Went home with my machine the next morning June 24 - Started my night time breathing treatments, must be for consecutive days prior to surgery. Insurance confirmed their requirements had been met still waiting for approval tho July 5 - OMG MOMENT I'm approved July 11 - Prep Session July 28 - Surgery date. I'll be sitting proudly on the losers bench Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  17. Just got off the phone with BCBSIL and the tech read my notes and she said it looks like I will be approved. She said they're still working it but I should expect to have it closed and a letter sent out by Wednesday or Thursday. So I'll try back than. SOOO EXCITED Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. So my paperwork was submitted on 6/20/16 and I'm super nervous that my insurance provider hasn't come through. Plus my insurance provider says it could take up to 30 days. Ugh, I've been so frustrated. Particularly since I've been reading a few of the threads and everyone has been getting approved super fast. I've been calling everyday for updates. But I keep thinking to myself (warning, it about to get spiritual) God wouldn't have put this idea in my head if He didn't think I could be successful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Looks like we're both in the same boat. My coordinator submitted mine on 6/20 and on 6/24 they confirmed my requirements had been met. So now I'm just waiting on someone to say I'm approved, just praying it comes soon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Hi people. So my coordinator submitted my request on 6/20 and I'm just waiting to hear back from my insurance. She said once I get my approval she's schedule my surgical date. I called yesterday and still nothing. I plan on calling again Thursday, 6/30. This waiting is starting to play with my mind, I'm going crazy Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. You look amazing after only 3 months. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. So today my surgeons office emailed me my requirements and they are: 1. A letter from my PCP which I have. 2. Blood work which I also already have. 3.?I need to attend one PreOp class. 4. I have to do a sleep study. Than they'll submit it to my insurance and hopefully I'll be approved and they'll schedule my appointment. This sounds fantastic. The only downside is I work at a school and I'll have to take off from work or should I wait until Christmas break? That will give me two weeks off and I can take an extra week off, so that's 3 weeks combined Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I called I should expect a email no later than Friday Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. I think I'll call today Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. So it's been a week since my consultation and my surgeon still hasn't emailed me with a list of the requirements I would need before my surgery. So I'm wondering should I call his office to see what's what??? I honestly thought they'd get back to me in the same week Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
