I'm 3yrs post surgery and burp excessively when I go too long without food. Once I start eating it settles down until it's time for me to eat again. Just started this a few months ago.

My surgery date 7/26/16 finally arrived. Everything has gone smoothly so far, I'm just extremely groggy and thirsty. I've had no liquids in my mouth for the past 30 hours. My pain is minimal but I do have a bit of nausea which has improved in the last few hours. My starting weight in May was 271 lbs and my weight day of surgery was 251 lbs. I can't believe how fast all of this is happening. I had my surgeon consult on May 30th, completed my 3 required nutrition classes last week and had my EGD on June 24th. My surgeon's office just called and said my insurance approved my surgery today and I have a date of July 27th! I'm shocked and thrilled at the same time. Can't wait to join the losers bench! *update* I had my consult with Dr. Chung and she's great, I felt completely comfortable with her. She does not require patients to lose weight before surgery but she is adamant that you cannot GAIN any weight at all. Sent from my VS985 4G using the BariatricPal App

Other than being obese im healthy so I've only needed blood work and an EGD. But I think it really depends on your medical history. My husband has to get a sleep study done since he snores really bad and does not wake up well rested. Sent from my VS985 4G using the BariatricPal App

I haven't even been to my first consult yet but I am so excited to start the wls process. I know Dr. Chung taught at Harvard med and put together the bariatric program at Capital Health just a few years ago. I was wondering if any of you are her former patients?
