  1.    Sai reacted to a post in a topic: Checking in 3 1/2 months out about 90 lbs down
  2. It has been a long awesome journey...The surgery has already changed my life in so many ways...Last year I was 377 lbs for my first visit with my surgeon now I am about 250 I feel so different its amazing...I have energy, I feel healthy and my way of life is just different...I can walk up stairs without being winded i can walk around the mall and stores with no problem. I went from a 4-5x shirt to a XL...My pants went from 54 to 40-42...I want to lose another 50-60 lbs...It has slowed a low my weight lost but I am happy with my progress! If you are thinking of getting it and have doubts do not hesitate...food is not as satisfying as the feeling of a new life! It was all worth it... The only down side would be the amount of skin I already have...I am not going to stress it I will deal with next summer...it still wouldn't change my decision... I am going to post some pictures soon as well
  3. I guess...I also got nervous when they suggested I get the duodenal switch surgery...Which freaked me out So I kind of went really hard on working out and eating right amount of everything...I do not want another surgery I already don't eat anything I like now I can Imagine adding another surgery.
  4. Right After surgery I was losing about 4-5 lbs a day...Then next month july I prob only lost about 20 lbs all month now I have added 2 hours of gym time everyday(cardio, strength training, etc.) I am back to losing 4-5 lbs a day agin...I take all vitamins, liquid and protein...Is it healthy?
  5. I went for my 1 month check up last week....She discouraged me slightly by suggesting I get the duodenal switch already...I told her I just had surgery....My weight lost did slow down a lot...I also was not working out...Not taking vitamins and not drinking enough...I don't want another surgery I already can't eat as it is...So I decided to actually use the surgery as a tool and been working out mostly cardio and strength training....Taking all vitamins and protein...It is amazing the difference...It is working great...When people say this surgery is the easy way out it gets me mad....We don't have choice we just can't really eat...I am getting use to it though....My surgeon thanks I have a stomach ulcer so I have endoscopy monday which sucks...I have sharp stomach pain after I eat and drink...
  6. Ive lost 39 lbs since the 27th! I've staled to about 2 lbs a day now... I am still happy Ive lost a total of 79 lbs since I started so I cannot complain...It is just falling off...I am not going to say it has been easy...I cheated twice once today...I ate half a slice of pizza and 3 french fries....I also cheated a couple days ago and had mashed potatoes...I am working out a lot so I think that is helping I have a personal trainer who comes to my house 3 times a week and I walk for 40 mins a day...around parks and my community....I do crave all old foods and drinks but I stick with only water...when I cheated the food just tasted bad to me....My whole taste buds have changed since surgery...I get dizzy when I get up all the time and I am always thirsty I hate that.
  7. I was wondering If anyone has any suggestions on fruit...I love fruits but I know they are very high in sugar...I never really cared for sweets but every since surgery my taste buds of changed completely. I always am craving sweets now.
  8. Yes, I am actually doing better now that I started work again...I do enjoy the fact that I get full so fast...I have just been eating chicken and fish with no extras lately or before work if I don't have time to cook I just have a shake...losing about 1-2 lbs a day.
  9. Before surgery I barely had a sense of smell and taste...Ever since It is slowly coming back...Shampoo and soaps smell awful to me now...Food taste different as well...Anyone else experience this?
  10. I am basically fully recovered and I feel as if I can eat anything now...Which is scary. I no longer get pains when I eat. i am now able to eat a full 4 oz piece of fish or eat....I am mostly eating fish and chicken only for now. i scares me to think How easy I can slip off diet now...I hired a personal trainer they start next week and I have been walking and get only 5-7000 steps a day still trying to get to 10,000. I just get bored...I already cheated and ate some bread...I ate half a roll a couple days ago and actually gained a lbs from it the next day! I am back on track now thank god.
  11. I was taking opeprazole before they told me I could keep taking it...I only paid 18 dollars for it without insurance....It is still cheaper than opeprazole.
  12. I added puree food to my diet and I am losing 2-3 lbs a day which is odd but I will not complain I was worried adding "food" would make it slow more...I am getting progress I lost 39 lbs before surgery it is coming off fast I will just enjoy it for now.
  13. I still have pain it is getting slightly better I am trying not to gulp too Its a habit I cannot break. they told my that could be the reason and the gas pain will go away over time.
  14. so we have to eat baby food with baby spoons now
  15. my clothes are starting to be lose too considering I've already lost over 50 lbs I've already went from a 4x to a 2x
  16. The gurgling is very normal.....my stomach is very vocal! haha..........The pain is another issue. You're still early in the pre-op and it may just be you're still healing but you should talk with your doctor about any pain you're experiencing. I had a hernia repair along with my sleeve surgery and I had a lot of chest pain for the first two weeks after surgery....did you have a hernia repair? No my surgery said everything went good and looked good while he was in there...I was thinking maybe I am just trying to eat too many types of food too soon... tomorrow I will go back to Protein shakes and see if that helps...I do get the pain a min or two after drinking...my postop visit is the 11th
