No more weight loss
Oh, I didn't realize Reynolds had closed inpatient services I'm glad the shakes in the morning works well for you...it's funny how different all dietitians are in their recommendations. The one I have here at Madigan insists that we NOT use Meal Replacements, although I still do when I feel like it. But breakfast is the one meal that I find easy to get my protein, I'm more likely to do the shake or bar for lunch, that's my challenging meal. Good luck to you, when is your surgery?

What Is Your Beverage of Choice?
@@Sai Thank you so much! I'm going to order the grains right away...I really need to be on probiotics regularly and I like kefir a great deal. This is awesome! @@PorkChopExpress GENEPRO is a bit pricey, but I buy so little food now that it's totally in the budget! Thanks for the info, you made my day

Eggs
@@brather eggs have been really hard for me since my surgery and I used to eat eggs several times a week. I'm 4 months out now and I can have one poached egg every couple of weeks, but that's all. Sorry, but it's not all that uncommon

External appeal Tricare?
@@Schoe394 I don't think you can do an external appeal with Tricare. You're in WA, correct? Did you have your surgery at Madigan? If so, have you gone through all the hoops at the facility to try to get them to help you with Tricare? If you're Standard vs Prime, you may have no other options. Also, you said your sleeve failed due to surgical error...do you have this documented by another surgeon? You may be able to go back to that surgeon and have her/him help you with the appeal.

@@Armygalbonnie Are you having your surgery at Ft. Sill? I've never, ever heard of a post-op sleeve plan where you have to use Meal Replacements for the rest of your life.

No more weight loss
@@cheryl417 You ate virtually no Protein today...you won't lose without following your plan. The depression/sadness you're feeling is pretty understandable after such a traumatic surgery experience, but don't further sabotage yourself by eating 95% carbs. You're diabetic, and that's not acceptable for your diabetes, either. Do you have access to a dietitian or someone who can help you with your food choices? You lost 20 lbs so you clearly know what to do...you need to clear your head and reset yourself. I'm sorry you went through so much with the surgery, but it truly doesn't make any sense to hurt yourself even more by eating poorly. Your long-term health is at stake here, you simply CAN'T do this to yourself.

Gastric bypass still on full liquid I want to eat applebees
She finds herself at Applebees and reaches out to a support forum...I don't understand replies like this, honestly. This didn't need to be another damned pile-on. It's getting old. In all fairness, I nicely told her order the tomato basil soup' and still got pooped on. I know, you seem to attract that kind of response and I hate it.

Grazing
I feel like I get up every single day and say to myself 'yep, still can't do that stuff anymore'. It's honestly day by day by day...and if I screw up one day, the next day is a clean sheet until I choose to do something to screw it up again. I realized after my surgery that I used to head straight to the kitchen to get something to eat the minute I walked in the door. And I did it just now. Of course, I haven't already overeaten all day long and I didn't get a bagel or a bowl of ice cream, I got a yogurt, but the habit is still the same. I HAVE to break it. Be kind to yourself...you didn't dive head first in to a vat of Chunky Monkey, right

Gastric bypass still on full liquid I want to eat applebees
This is what I do...we have a very active social life and I refuse to sit home, either It just takes planning, and sometimes the plan is that you don't eat at the restaurant you end up at. I keep a Protein Bar and a tube of Nuun tablets in my bag just in case I neglect that planning. You're early post-op, you'll get the hang of it. The soup was a great choice, keep on making those kinds of choices and you're going to be very successful!

What has been the hardest part of your journey thus far?
@@xoxococojay Great topic, thanks for asking the question! @@Bufflehead Thanks for such a truthful reply. This first 4 months has been SO easy for me...I eat like a bird, weight is falling off, everyone is all 'oh, you look great!', all new clothes AND shoes, more energy, etc, etc. It's all good except for a little foaming. In 40 more lbs, I'm going to have to make this stick and I'm a little afraid of my own ability to do so, because I've ALWAYS been able to drop weight...but I couldn't ever keep it off. Reading what you wrote has given me some things to think about for the future <3

No longer answering these questions:

I don't think it's hypocrisy at all. I see so many posts about 'treats' and 'good' food and so forth...I absolutely will not allow myself to continue to look at food that way. A 'treat' is a day spent, at a normal size and healthy, with my family. A 'treat' is getting on a plane and not dreading getting into the seat. A 'treat' is walking a couple of miles without needing the next day off because of leg and foot pain. Thinking of crap food as 'treats' and 'good' and 'fun' is how I got to 262 and surgery. No more. Not one more damned day. If YOU want to 'treat' yourself with food and have 'fun' with food, you can eat around your sleeve and find yourself right back where you were...or you can change your relationship with food and find other ways to 'treat' yourself and other 'good' things and other ways to have 'fun'. But don't expect me or many others here to ever support you in continuing the same deadly relationship with food that you had pre-op. You'll find plenty of 'oh, you do what makes you feel good' replies and when you've gained your weight back, you can come back and thank them

Why all the judgement
You're talking about the one who said "buy a lotto ticket", right?

Don't comment with slick remarks
Just a little aside here. This morning I half heard a public radio discussion. The speaker referred to Sara Palin's having claimed a view of Russia from her backyard in Alaska. He then exclaimed something like, "I live near Lake Michigan. Does that make me a sturgeon?" (As I said, I only half heard it, so this may be less than accurate. It's in the spirit assuredly.) I'm peeing myself again. This is the best thread ever!

I'm Catholic but never ate that at Christmas. Must be why I have NO CLUE WHY the OP started this thread??? I'm CARP-less!!! All of my life! Almost 50 years sans carp! I think I should sue someone for damages. Perhaps a check for me, as well?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App As best as I can tell, we get a carp, a dollar and a lotto ticket? Is this one of those internet scams?
