I keep oscillating between the balloon and the sleeve. I understand the risks are greater with the sleeve, but it sounds like having the balloon is miserable and seems like dehydration is a problem. I apologize if this sounds naive or silly. But I have a few questions, I haven't decided about surgery yet. What happens to the staples? Will they ever get loose, nick other organs or possible get loose and travel through intestines? What meds are typically prescribed after surgery, i saw a blood thinner injection is one. I went thru 4 ivfs so put my body thru a menopausal state 4 times and my body loves to hold onto fat! Before the last ivf, i convinced dh to let me have a smart lipo procedure on my tummy so the meds could work better (they did, I had twins). My hubby mistook the lipo for weight loss and said basically I was still fat and I'm never to have that type of surgery again. My recovery was tough and he was worried (?) anyway, I need help, I want to get the sleeve and get in with life and run after my kids without having a breathing attack. I want to be open about the surgery and my desire for it, but it'll cost 12000 out of pocket. I'm afraid he'll think I'm doing one of my silly weight loss things again. I just found out the package cost for plication vs Sleeve, 15000 vs 13500(!) I was thinking that the plication would be less expensive. I was looking at the plication for numerous reasons (risks, no cutting, etc) but have been on the fence about which procedure to finally do. How did you decide for the plication vs any other wls? I was under the impression that it was an outpatient procedure, i havent seen a doc yet for consult. Maybe once I feel confident in going forward with it, I'll let my husband know.
