Any Iowa sleevers?
I'm feeling almost 100% already. No pain at all, just a little fatigue. I just mowed, and I'm a little more beat than I usually am. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App

Any Iowa sleevers?
Cedar Rapids here. I'm 37, started this journey back in December at 417. My surgery was last Monday (9/26), and I'm one of the lucky ones, in terms of very minimal pain, zero nausea, and I went back to work one week after being released. This morning I weighed in at 370, but most of that weight loss was pre-surgery. My surgery was at the University of Iowa, and my surgeon was Dr. Smith. My insurance required a six month diet, and I'm glad I had all of that time to prepare. I also had a few month delay due to a paperwork issue. Right now, I'm feeling almost 100%, and I'm just nervous about this lengthy journey ahead of me. I'm glad to have this forum for support, and love to see fellow Iowans here! My surgery eve is here!
Good luck tomorrow, and post here after you're awake and feeling well enough. My surgery was last Monday, and I had the same feelings of not believing the day was approaching. Now I'm healing, and I worry less about weight loss and more about getting in my Protein and fluids. Rely on your support, and keep us all updated! Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App

Fighting temptations
I'm not sure what your journey was before the operation, but you have to be patient during this process. I went through about two weeks of liquids pre-op, two weeks post, so I can make it another few weeks. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App

How long did your Dr put you out for?
My surgery was last Monday, and I'm going back to work tomorrow. So six total days off work. I work in an office, so it's not that bad for me. I'm getting my fluids in, not experiencing any pain, and I really prefer to get back into my work routine. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App

Home from the hospital
I quickly determined that I'm able to drink more than I was expecting. I'm happy for that, since there was no way i could have hit my goals on such small amounts. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App

Having a hard time quitting smoking
Ah, the truth comes out. Kick him in the shins and put him out with the dog. Don't kiss him. I think she's looking for weight loss, not spouse loss. Smoking is a personal decision. Me having my wife continue to smoke was a great test for me.

Having a hard time quitting smoking
Here is how I was able to get by: I keep telling myself that I'll have another cigarette, or at least a few puffs, after I've healed. Maybe I will, maybe I won't, but I'm not a big fan of the concept of forever. One thing that is for sure is that if you get caught smoking pre-surgery, they'll reset the clock on you, and you'll be back to square one. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App

Any Sept. surgeries?
I'm two days out, so I'm curious as to what has been more difficult? At this point, I'm worried much less about weight loss, and more about hydration and recovery. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App

September Sleevers!
I had my surgery on Monday morning. No hunger at all, very little pain, but I'm having a heck of a time staying up long enough to get my liquids. I seem to be sleepy all day and all night. When I drink, it's fine, but again - I'm not awake often enough to get much. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App

Clear Liquid Diet: Day 1
I've only told a few people, for similar reasons. I'm about 12.5 hours away from being on the operating table, and I'm planning on telling most people after the surgery is done.

Who decides surgery type?
I went into my initial meeting with the surgeon with no preference, so he suggested the gastric sleeve. I preferred to rely on their experience and knowledge. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App

Flip flopping family member(s)
My approval process was delayed for a while, so I had a few months of last meals/food funerals. I really feel like I got most of it out of my system. My surgery is on Monday, so it's too late now! Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
