  1. I'm feeling almost 100% already. No pain at all, just a little fatigue. I just mowed, and I'm a little more beat than I usually am. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  2. Why do you tempt me with this?? Yes, I miss eggs more than anyone should. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  3. Cedar Rapids here. I'm 37, started this journey back in December at 417. My surgery was last Monday (9/26), and I'm one of the lucky ones, in terms of very minimal pain, zero nausea, and I went back to work one week after being released. This morning I weighed in at 370, but most of that weight loss was pre-surgery. My surgery was at the University of Iowa, and my surgeon was Dr. Smith. My insurance required a six month diet, and I'm glad I had all of that time to prepare. I also had a few month delay due to a paperwork issue. Right now, I'm feeling almost 100%, and I'm just nervous about this lengthy journey ahead of me. I'm glad to have this forum for support, and love to see fellow Iowans here! 4. Just walk away from your keyboard/phone and don't post things like this. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  5. Good luck tomorrow, and post here after you're awake and feeling well enough. My surgery was last Monday, and I had the same feelings of not believing the day was approaching. Now I'm healing, and I worry less about weight loss and more about getting in my Protein and fluids. Rely on your support, and keep us all updated! Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  6. I'm seriously wondering how this user was unbanned. Bariatric surgery to lose 10 pounds? Riiiight... Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm right there with you, believe me. I'm looking forward to some scrambled eggs this weekend. I should probably make sure they're considered pureed first! Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  8. Ah, that makes sense. I had my spirit broken beforehand!! When can you start moving to solids? Week 5? Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  9. I'm not sure what your journey was before the operation, but you have to be patient during this process. I went through about two weeks of liquids pre-op, two weeks post, so I can make it another few weeks. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  10. Good luck tomorrow. It's going to be a whirlwind, but you'll be happy when it's over. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  11. My surgery was last Monday, and I'm going back to work tomorrow. So six total days off work. I work in an office, so it's not that bad for me. I'm getting my fluids in, not experiencing any pain, and I really prefer to get back into my work routine. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  12. I quickly determined that I'm able to drink more than I was expecting. I'm happy for that, since there was no way i could have hit my goals on such small amounts. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  13. Ah, the truth comes out. Kick him in the shins and put him out with the dog. Don't kiss him. I think she's looking for weight loss, not spouse loss. Smoking is a personal decision. Me having my wife continue to smoke was a great test for me.
  14. Here is how I was able to get by: I keep telling myself that I'll have another cigarette, or at least a few puffs, after I've healed. Maybe I will, maybe I won't, but I'm not a big fan of the concept of forever. One thing that is for sure is that if you get caught smoking pre-surgery, they'll reset the clock on you, and you'll be back to square one. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  15. This makes me happy to read. My one week visit is on Monday. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  16. Not very often for me. I had my surgery three days ago. The first day I did burp quite a bit, but not constantly or anything. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  17. I'm two days out, so I'm curious as to what has been more difficult? At this point, I'm worried much less about weight loss, and more about hydration and recovery. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  18. I had my surgery on Monday morning. No hunger at all, very little pain, but I'm having a heck of a time staying up long enough to get my liquids. I seem to be sleepy all day and all night. When I drink, it's fine, but again - I'm not awake often enough to get much. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  19. Mine is 100. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  20. I've only told a few people, for similar reasons. I'm about 12.5 hours away from being on the operating table, and I'm planning on telling most people after the surgery is done.
  21. No digestive issues for me at all. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  22. I'm on day 9 of my liquid diet, and I'd kill to only need to do 2. I'm at a birthday party outing now, drinking Water, no food. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  23. I was given a schedule as well. I'm sure it's in your paperwork somewhere! Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  24. I went into my initial meeting with the surgeon with no preference, so he suggested the gastric sleeve. I preferred to rely on their experience and knowledge. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  25. My approval process was delayed for a while, so I had a few months of last meals/food funerals. I really feel like I got most of it out of my system. My surgery is on Monday, so it's too late now! Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
