I had my preop class in November... long story. My liquid diet is 3 weeks long. 4 shakes a day. Surgery on the first. It varies by program. SURGERY DAY: 3/1/17

All is well on my end! Start my liquid diet Wednesday, and have my preop appointment on Valentine's Day. Making my costco run tomorrow to prep for it. SURGERY DAY: 3/1/17

The same reason why you have to pay copays at times. My insurance is covering the actual surgery cost but I've had to pay 120 in actual copays. Be thankful that it's only 215 and not the 14,000+ of the actual surgery. SURGERY DAY: 3/1/17

Yay! Congrats! I have 30 days left... THIRTY... 3-0 and I cannot believe it!!! My liquid preop diet starts on the 8th! I started my process on April 5th of last year and I am finally down to the final countdown! We got this! SURGERY DAY: 3/1/17

I didn't have a problem getting approved and at one point in time I gained. It really depends on your insurance.

So your first appointment is in February, it could be expected in July. But it can take 3 weeks + to hear back from insurance (unless you're like me and continue bugging them) However, my insurance required 6 months as well. I started in April or last year (the 8th to be exact) and just got approved 2 weeks ago with a surgery date of March 1st, so that's almost a full year. Some have it right on the money, others have delayed times like myself. Make sure you have every possible appointment you may need within these 6 months so that things can be squared away.
