my surgery was on May 31st, just a little over 5 weeks ago. I am feeling more like myself now. Trying to get the Water in and the calories up. I have been averaging 500 to 600 calories a day this week. Definitely headed in right direction. Saw the dr yesterday and was told to get my caloric intake up as well as my Protein. I am 55 and had my surgery on May 31, 2016. Just over 5 weeks ago. Only problem I had was bowel impaction after 12 days. I was told not to worry since no much food was going in but, I should have been taking the stool softners 3x day. I all goo now. Still healing. Had an appointment today. All is going well. Day ten and feeling pretty good. I walked ten minutes tonight , not at my old pace but I walked. Still trying to get more Water in and Protein. I was surprised. I would rather have that than the broth. I also bought the unflavored to add to my other Soups. Again, not bad. Tonight my darn dog ate my dinner when I was outside! it went well. Pain meds wired me so I have been up all night. Just waiting for Dracula to show up. LOL. I heard the first night is the worst. If that is so then I look forward to tonight. The first day was horrible . So much gas I felt horrendous . I walked as well and did feel a little better but still felt pressure throughout my chest all day . The sent me home yesterday afternoon . Up 29 hours and the did not want to give me something to sleep. I was in Kaiser Fremont and once on the floor they ignore you. So flag I got to go home around noon yesterday. Staying at my moms while hubby went back to work. Finally able to pass some gas. . Trying to get all or any Fluid in hurts and is difficult but I am really trying. Still so tired today. I have read so much on here and had really wished to connect to someone else having the Sleeve tomorrow. I picked my name because of my hair color and I was a stay at home mom. (Red goddess) anyway, tomorrow is the big day. Today I have been doing the whole colon cleanse thing and on liquid diet. The berry flavored mag. citrate was not bad. So much better than the go litly stuff I had to drink (1 gal) before a colonoscopy. This was a walk in the park. I am very nervous and second guessing myself. At a meeting I attended on post op sleever said he had "buyers remorse". I hear that is common and passes fairly soon yet I still wonder if I could have done it (diet) successfully this time?
