When did you pay the hospital, before or after surgery?
They called 2 days before and I paid over the phone. They said it had to be paid before the surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hair loss noticeable/problematic?
As someone who already is starting the genetic downward slide to hair loss. I'm concerned that the success I had the last 2 years from taking propecia and rogaine will be washed away in a few short months. Those things stopped my hair loss in their tracts. Because my hair loss is male pattern baldness, once I lose a hair, it's most likely gone forever, so the idea that it will grow back in a few months doesn't excite me much. I would love to hear from you guys. Did anyone not have hair loss? For those that take the propecia(finesteride), rogaine combo. Did that help at all to keep what you had? I'm also taking Biotin 10,000 the last 3 months. I was sleeved 5 days ago. Thanks again. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Protein and clear liquids
I'm 5 days sleeved. My doctor said don't worry about Protein the first week, just stay hydrated with 65 oz a day. But protein does worry me a bit because I've done all I can to fight hair loss even before the surgery, and I know protein plays a major role. I thought I could get protein in, and I just can't yet. I'm barely hitting my 65, more like 50-60 a day. Did you guys go without protein the first few days. If not, on did you get it in. I tried the Isopure Water and I gag drinking it. It's nasty. The good news is so far, I have zero pain, no nausea, just a little gas still. Any advice would help. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hello from Central Florida
Thanks for the replies! I'm 37. My insurance is covering the procedure, so I guess they think I need it. It's scheduled for 4/14. I think I'm making the right choice. I'm just very very nervous. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So I want to hear stories...
The other day I went out to buy a suit. Everything nice was made for skinny guys. I finally found a suit that fit and on the front of the suit was a big sticker that said " PORTLY". I had to buy the suit. But I swore that would be the last PORTLY SUIT I buy. My surgery is April 14. Can't wait Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Humana Insurance?
I have Humana and got approved in 2 days. My Bmi was around 40, with sleep apnea. I was told by my surgeon that Humana was easier than any other insurer. My surgery date is April 14 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hello from Central Florida
My surgery is scheduled for April 14. I felt great leading up to this. But as soon as so got the date, I started having doubts. I've heard from many people that I'm not heavy enough for surgery. But my stats would disagree 5'9 270. But I also weight train. Even my cardiologist asked if I was completely sure that I wanted to do this, because of my general muscle tone. I carry most of my weight in my massive mid section. I'm all belly. Have any guys in my forum been at my weight and height range and had the surgery. I also have HBP, and sleep apnea. Over the years my weight has shot up to 300, and got as low as 225. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
