Yay! I finally got my surgery date. It will be May 2nd. I'm so excited/nervous. My surgeon doesn't require a liquid diet, just high Protein low carb for 2 weeks prior to surgery. He also informed me he does an EGD type test while you are under to check for leaks so you don't have to drink the nasty stuff to check for leaks after! I'm having the gastric sleeve. My surgeon only requires a one night stay in the hospital so that's a relief. I work at the facility I'm having it at. It has helped expidite the process. I only had my first appointment 2 weeks ago. I had already complied with the insurance requirement of 6 months of supervised weight loss in the past 2 years. I have an appointment on April the 7th. Hi! This is my first post. I'm a 32 year old female. I'm 5 10 and weight 292 lbs. I was just approved by my insurance today to have the gastric sleeve. My family is freaking out and telling me it's too dangerous but I've explained to them I've done the research and I've already made the decision. I am waiting on my psych evaluation and dietician meeting and I will be ready to get my surgery date. It's exciting to read everyone's stories on here and am looking for friends who understand.
