My surgeon told me not to eat rice, pasta,bread, or potatoes after surgery. He said it can stall weight loss or even make you gain. All surgeons are different though. Maybe ask your surgeon what he/she recommends. Did he give you a list of foods that are allowed?

Had my bypass on the 12th and went home on the 15th but was re-admitted on the 17 due to dehydration. Finally home and feeling better! Those pre op diets dont sound like fun at all. My surgeon said just the day before to be on clear liquids.

I have orientation scheduled for March 31st. I had orientation originally in 2012 but never went through with anything. Can anyone tell me about the whole kp process? Do they require 6 months of options classes now? And do they still require 3 months of prior supervised weight loss attempts?
