  12. James you are such an inspiration. Thanks
  13. Jen at Dr Weiner was awsome and they seem to have this long distance thing worked out with skyped office calls, even discounted hotel rates in place. Is his office far from hospital and airport? Dr Rollins in Arkansas is less money, they are checking to see how to combine everything into one flight out as they had not done so before.
  14. Thanks everyone, I called a couple of the drs today with great response, now to pick!

  17. Hello everyone this is a group open to all of us who are new to wls and rny pre and post op. I hope we can find a group of us who will find friendship and support for our journey into weight loss. Ups and downs even plateaus, let's share it all!
  18. I am a private pay and looking at other options for RNY in US costing less than local hospital. It is between 32000.00 to 38000.00. I would appreciate any help you all have to give.
  19. We have a new facebook group starting today for all of us newbies you can join us search for pegraeswlsnewbies.
  20. I can relate to your frustration, I too have insurance with no bariatric benifits, Check with your surgeons to see if they offer discounts and with your local hospital foundations to see if they can help financially. Be sure your HR knows this is not an option and not to tell others it might be. If you work for a health care facility they may offer an employee discount. Good luck. I am selling quilts to pay for mine.
  21. Heidi they are all different but each group seems to give good direction when you go. The best information I have found is the big book on RNY available here on Bariatricpal. It is so full of information and very helpful. Worth every penny. We are starting a facebook page for newbies search for us on facebook pegraeswlsnewbies for any other support. Good luck and breath deep there are so many people here to support you.
  22. Wahoo for you and now I know what that means!!!
  23. Good luck you will rock this. post op pain is short lived and you will be so happy with your outcomes you will forget soon after. looking forward to hearing how well you are doing.
  24. Hi it's Pegrae, I have been two weeks without soda pop. For me that is a major change, I always drink diet but just to change a huge habit is an amazing feat for me. My friend who had her rny months ago said I should start now with some changes and not attempt them all at once when I have a surgery date.
