  2. Count me in. I'm almost 9 months post op and stalled right at BMI of 30 - I want to get back in and cross over from obese to overweight. Current weight 174.8. I'd like to lose 10 pounds during the challenge. Going back to premier shakes for breakfast. Not sure about other meals yet. Very uninspired by all things low carb. Struggles

In my early days I experimented with some new Soups and just had the broth while they ate the Soup, then as my diet progressed I blended them. It made me feel better early on to eat what they were eating. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    B shaped belly

I have the same belly and have wondered the same thing. I'm down almost 60 pounds and still have the belly button level roll separator. :-( Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any So Cal Sleevers?

I'm in Ventura and sleeved in April by Dr. Thoman in Santa Barbara. I had a band from 2001 -2013 and loving my sleeve! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Everything made me want to puke for about a week after surgery. Zofran was a life saver for me - do you have any? In the early days the best I could do for Protein some days was fairlife milk. But again only with zofran in my system. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. What I could tolerate pre-op and post-op were different. Pre-op I could tolerate Syntrax nectar, premier Protein strawberry, and isopure. Post op all I have been able to tolerate is chocolate Premier Protein. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. 189.2 today. I guess I should've set my goal a little lower - I've never lost 5 lbs in a week before! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How long were you out of work?

I have a similar job. I had surgery on Monday and took that week off. Worked from home the next week, probably about 50% productive. Returned to work the following Monday exactly 2 weeks after surgery. I was a little more tired than usual but did fine. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I had surgery on a Monday, took that week off then worked from home the next week. So went back in person at 2 weeks post op to my desk job. I was more than ready to go back at 2 weeks Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Most worried about ...

At 3 weeks I might try to opt out. Eating out is hard for me at 3 & 1/2 months out. I only go with people who know that I've had surgery and still I feel a weird pressure to look normal while consuming my tiny portions. Prefer restaurants with small plates (though even then, I only eat a small amount of the small plate) - like 1 coconut shrimp from a small plate of 4, 1/2 of the salmon off of a small plate of 3 salmon mini sliders, picked just the ahi tuna out of an ahi ceviche. Waiters and waitresses ask a lot of "is everything ok" type of questions. chicken wings are also good - easy to just eat a bit off them and look "normal". Hope I'll get over this one day, but I had a lap band before and felt the same way. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Hi everyone, I'm having trouble deciding who to listen to - my surgeon or my nutritionist. HW 243 SW (day of surgery after pre op diet) 234. 2 month post op I was 214.5. I'll also mention that I had a lap band for 10 years and had it removed almost 3 years ago- gained back anything I had lost with it. When I went to my 2 month post op appointment, my surgeon was unimpressed by my weight loss. So was I. He asked what I was eating and I told him I was getting about 700 calories a day but getting in all of my Protein. He said I was eating WAY too much and this is why I wasn't losing. He said only eat when hungry, forget about protein, stop Protein shakes, and live off my fat. I pointed out that is very different guidance than I had received from the nutritionist that I had seen right there in that very office. He said something like "yeah, yeah, I know. She gets all focused on that and it is really not necessary - this is an ongoing conversation I am having with her". Because I was on a stall at the time, I decided to go with his advice and see what happens. I lost about 10 pounds the following month. Also during this month I upped my exercise, getting 10,000 steps most days with a combination of walking and jogging (using couch to 5k, up to week 4). But now I am on a stall again, and wondering what I should do nutrition wise. I am getting around 700 calories still most days but really never over 40ish grams of protein. It is hard to figure out what to do when your 2 resources are telling you different things. I haven't seen anyone else on the boards who are being told to forget about protein. What should I do? Forget my surgeon's advice and go with the nutritionist even though my weight loss was slow when following that plan? Follow my surgeon's advice even though it is not consistent with any of my research or reading others' experience? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I really just cut out the Premier Protein I was having in the morning, and I'm eating only regular food. I have an oatmega bar in the morning, a balanced break cheese/nut snack or homemade lunchables with a couple of crackers, lunch meat, and cheese at lunch, maybe a little bit of fruit at some point, and a few bites of meat/veggies/sometimes a bit of carbs at dinner. It really stinks to be stalled at 201. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. 202 - missed my goal (and onederland) by 3 stinking pounds. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Yes I was worried at first that it was going to be just like the band. But at almost 3 months it is so different than the band. I can eat small amounts of anything. I have zero hunger and zero cravings - with the band it seemed like I was always so hungry and craved sweets. I've lost 40 pounds. :-) I felt pretty crummy for a couple of weeks - it took me longer to get my energy back than I expected. So don't get discouraged! You'll do great and you're going to love the sleeve once it settles down! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  23. How is it going? My surgeon - ok well actually the residents who worked with my surgeon, as my surgeon is a man of few words -told me that I had a lot of scar tissue from the band removal a couple of years prior. They actually said that he has to spend a lot of time taking down adhesion from the banding to get the stomach to lie flat in order to do the sleeve. They were also not surprised that I experienced a lot of nausea and vomiting because they said that due to the scar tissue, my pouch was very small. I'm almost 3 months out and doing fine. But I have to say the sleeve was a bit of a rough surgery for me. Taking my band out was a piece of cake. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  25. My transition from band to nothing for 2 years to sleeve has gone great. Eating with the sleeve is way easier. Cravings I still had with the band are gone, no pain like with the band. Good luck, you'll do great. SW 243 CW 206 sleeved 4/18 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
