Me too! I nearly flipped out of my chair when I got the email. Everyone at my work thought something horrible happened until I said I was approved lol. It only took a week this time. Wow just a blessed day this has turned into Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App CONGRATULATIONS ASHORYB. Im glad i gave you some hope, I know Exactly what you mean when you got the APPROVED ... i got mine directly from the EXTERNAL APPEALS Department thank GOD i was sitting down in my office by myself. I just started to cry when the gentleman told me i was approved. Yes it was worth the fight ... CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN when is your surgery date.

I just came back from my one week post op band removal im doing fine i feel great exept for the first few days with gas and a little muscle pain. im back to feeling normal.. My sleeve is still scheduled for May 24th i tried to get it moved up by my doctor but he was really struggling with moving it up to six weeks instead of 7 that i am scheduled for. Reason he said was that my band and stomach was in terrible shape. he showed me a diagram of a stomach and band and how the band had slipped and part of my stomach was squeezed leaving like a balloon shape up top of the band deforming my stomach so he insisted on the 7 week that i was scheduled for and i hands up said you know best . so May 24th is it.. the only thing i have to repeat is my clearance and blood work because that is the only thing that expires after one month .. i already scheduled that for early may so now im just going to wait patiently and try to lose 13 lbs by may 24th. How long do you have to make up your mind . I hope all works well for you no matter what surgery you choose.. Almost all of the stories are like yours. I don't want these problems at all. Sleeve is sounding more and more appealing. Where in NY did you do yours? I'm doing it Langone Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App Hi I live in Rockland County, NY but my surgeon and hospital is in Hackensack NJ about 20 minutes from me. He is the same surgeon that did my band. I know the choice is yours but if i had listened to others 10 years ago when i got the band i would've gotten the sleeve .... RNY TO ME is still last last resort im terrified of the symptoms one can get and again its my opinion only and what i have witness my close friends and family who had with the RNY. where is Langone, NY

I had the band for 10 years same as above reflux heart burning slippage erosion ect just got it removed last tues. sleeve May 24th..

Are you suppose to be on a liquid diet after removal of band?? I didnt read my after lapband removal protocol.

Hi Green, Sorry to hear that you dont feel well but you still are not giving enough information for someone to give you advise. Im in New York too i had my lapband put in 10 years ago just got it removed last Tuesday for a revision to sleeve but couldnt do the sleeve because when doc went in it had slipped so he just removed the band and i am scheduled for the sleeve in 6 weeks. What insurance do you have why do you want it out. why is the doctor saying you cant take it out. who is your doctor. do you want something else (revision) or is it just to soon .. ?????

Hello, It is ultimately up to YOU.. Weigh your pro's and con's.. What i can tell you from experience is the Band was a nightmare when it wanted. It was like it had a mind of its's own .. So much so i called it Willy.. Willy was good for about 3 years and then i started the acid reflux and taking omerprazole and filling and unfilling and filling and unfilling. i still tried to work with it sometimes taking a break and unfilling it completely and start again after a couple of months. All wls is work but dammit Willy had me dong overtime. so ten years later i decided thats it im getting sleeve. i just got my band removed on Tuesday i was supposed to get the sleeve at the same time but when doc went in my band had slipped leaving my stomach swollen and bruised and to close to esophogus so he just removed the band and want to let my stomach heal for a much better outcome. so im scheduled for May 24th... cant wait. like i said it was my experience and your decision is ultimately yours.. good luck NY NY.

Awee sorry to hear that . family could be worse than a stranger. It can be alot of things maybe they are just to scared or this is how they deal with the fear .... My friend /supervisor supports me all the way cause she knows a pack of wild horses couldn't stop me if they tried. that is what she always say to me. as long as you did your research and you feel comfortable you do you... another reason not to tell many people. on tuesday when i went April 5 to have my surgery (revision ) band to sleeve my husband was taking me and guess who popped up at my house at 8 am ... yes my mom who i didnt tell because i dont want to hear her mouth and for her to be worried. so i was rushing out and she asked if i was leaving for work so early i said No no work going to get epidural shot in my back she knows of my back problem so she is use to that. Yup did not tell her.. Unfortunately i didn't get the sleeve done cause my band had slipped and doc said that he wanted to let my stomache heal cause it was bruised and too close to my esophogus. so im scheduled for May 24 for the sleeve. he did take the band out. so just healing now.. sooooooo i already told my mom im going back may 24the for another set of shots and this time i might stay over. lololol whatever works. i usually tell her after i do things like liposuction, the band ect.. because again i did my research im very comfortable with my decision and my hubby is my support no matter what i do.. Where do you live. do you have friends that can come and get you. is there a bariatric group that you go to maybe someone there can help you out. if not girlll get in a cab and go home...dont sweat it. Im in Rockland County NY if you are around let me know.
