  3. I used Dr Zavalza and I stayed at the BP Recovery House.
  4. I went down on my own in April. It was a little lonely, but I was fine. Good luck! I would do it again in a heartbeat!
  5. @@UtahChica glad you are doing great! I had my surgery April 8th with Dr Zavalza. I am down 40 pounds and feel great. This surgery was not anywhere as difficult as I thought it would be. I had almost zero pain and recovery was a cinch. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
  6. I am only 13 days out and have stalled the last 3 days. I lost 11 pounds the first 10 days, and then nothing since. I am so frustrated! I was expecting this at 3 weeks out, but not this early!
  7. A PPI (proton pump inhibitor) is a medication (Prilosec is one brand) that can help decrease the acid in your stomach so you don't get heartburn, a common problem with the sleeve. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. My surgery is the 8th in TJ also. Starting my liquid diet today. Woohoo!
  9. Thanks for this list. I leave next week and have been starting to put together a mental list of what I need to take.
  10. Thank you!
  11. Hi Paola! My surgery is 4/8 with Dr. Z. Could you clarify for me when the liquid diet starts? I have heard 3 days prior and 5 days prior. Thanks
  12. I am using Bariatric Pal (Dr Zavalza) next week. I contacted my FSA and was assured that it didn't matter what country I received the surgery in, as long as it is a medically necessary procedure, and I submit a receipt stating such. I will pay for the surgery in full, and then submit the receipt to my FSA for reimbursement.

  14. I am a nurse and I have only told my coworkers that I am taking some time off. Only my supervisor knows that I am taking sick time for a "procedure." If my supervisor asks what I am having done, I will tell him, but nobody else needs to know.

  16. I have just sent you a friend request in FB. My surgery date is April 8th! Please add me to the group
  17. With your history of DVTs, I would definitely talk to your surgeon about flying home after. It is a short flight, however, so you will most likely be fine, but see what your doctor says.
