Getting sleeve done on April 8th in Tijuana Mexico.. !
I went down on my own in April. It was a little lonely, but I was fine. Good luck! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Doctors to see you after surgery in Salt Lake City
@@UtahChica glad you are doing great! I had my surgery April 8th with Dr Zavalza. I am down 40 pounds and feel great. This surgery was not anywhere as difficult as I thought it would be. I had almost zero pain and recovery was a cinch. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Stall and not even a month out?
I am only 13 days out and have stalled the last 3 days. I lost 11 pounds the first 10 days, and then nothing since. I am so frustrated! I was expecting this at 3 weeks out, but not this early!

Protein intake?!?
A PPI (proton pump inhibitor) is a medication (Prilosec is one brand) that can help decrease the acid in your stomach so you don't get heartburn, a common problem with the sleeve. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi everyone
Hi Paola! My surgery is 4/8 with Dr. Z. Could you clarify for me when the liquid diet starts? I have heard 3 days prior and 5 days prior. Thanks

I have a FSA & I don't know where I can use it.
I am using Bariatric Pal (Dr Zavalza) next week. I contacted my FSA and was assured that it didn't matter what country I received the surgery in, as long as it is a medically necessary procedure, and I submit a receipt stating such. I will pay for the surgery in full, and then submit the receipt to my FSA for reimbursement.

Work in healthcare - what to tell them?
I am a nurse and I have only told my coworkers that I am taking some time off. Only my supervisor knows that I am taking sick time for a "procedure." If my supervisor asks what I am having done, I will tell him, but nobody else needs to know.

Any April 2016 sleevers out there?
I have just sent you a friend request in FB. My surgery date is April 8th! Please add me to the group

Doctors to see you after surgery in Salt Lake City
With your history of DVTs, I would definitely talk to your surgeon about flying home after. It is a short flight, however, so you will most likely be fine, but see what your doctor says.

Doctors to see you after surgery in Salt Lake City
Hi everyone! I am in Draper, Utah and am thinking about having VSG with Dr. Altamirano in April or May also. I am a little hesitant about asking my PCP to follow. I have told my family that I am looking into this, and they are definitely very concerned about my decision to do this in Tijuana, as you can imagine! Have any of you experienced this with your families, and how did you convince them that this is quality health care?

Dr. Altamirano or Dr. Zarvalza?
I am trying to decide between these two surgeons. Have you had any experience with either one, good or bad?
