  1. I hope all goes well for you all tomorrow! I am excited to hear your experience as mine is 4/4!
  2. I went to the first informational session on 11/01/15 and my surgery is scheduled for 4/4/16
  3. My Bari office just told me about optisource multivitamins specifically made for after bariatric surgery, she told me if you get those you take one 4x per day and said it had the calcium and everything needed, she did suggest an additional biotin for the hair. Oh and I got them on Amazon and got one month supply for $27 I think
  4. Happy surgery eve to a lot of you! Hope all goes well!
  5. I am in a similar boat as an RN having surgery on 4/4! My husband and a few coworkers are the only ones that know I am having this done. I am in a similar boat as an RN having surgery on 4/4! My husband and a few coworkers are the only ones that know I am having this done.
  6. I had thought my doctors office would have just sent it over after everything was complete. But luckily I decided to email them to make sure they got every thing and it had been sent, it was about an extra week or two before they actually sent it off for approval. Once they did that I heard back in 3 days.
  7. Congrats! Monday is my first day of my liquid diet and I will be having surgery 2 weeks after you! Hope you make it through the week/weekend and all goes well!
  8. Once you start having full liquids you should start having bowel movements. There's just not likely much of anything to come out. I haven't gone through this yet, but I imagine it's just because you are clear.
  9. My surgeon wants it in advance so there are no surprises and to test for h Pylori so it can be treated prior to surgery
  10. I'm from KC too!!!!!!!!!!!! My surgery is April 4th through Mosaic Life Care! And we are similar starting height/weights! Well I technically am an hour or so away from KC, but still very excited to have someone similar!
  11. Thanks! I know it will be big changes but I am excited! Pammieanne- that's awesome! Hope you hear back soon!
  12. I am scheduled for 4/4/16 too!! I am in the states, from the time I initially spoke with my PCP about wanting surgery to the surgery date will be 5.5 months (the insurance program was a 13 week program, but with coordinating everything needed it has taken longer). I'm Kelsie, and I am 29. It will be kind of neat having someone going through the same things at the same time!
  13. "I have met almost all the criteria for surgery." Unfortunately the reason why it is not covered is because you are not meeting their criteria, and until you do, you likely will not be covered.
  14. I am officially scheduled for my RNY on 4/4/16! And and EGD on 3/16! I can't believe it is finally scheduled!
  15. Congrats! I'm not too far behind you on 4/4! I hope you have recovered well so far!
  16. I have a date!! Wahoo! Anyone else going around this time?
  17. I'm not from Springfield, but I am near Kansas City! You are the closest I have seen so far! I hope your surgery went well!
  18. Yeah, I have already completed the 3 month wellness stuff, psych, dietician, personal trainer, and physical therapy meetings, I was wondering how long after you did those things and they submitted it for pre approval to your insurance did it take to hear a reply for authorization?
  19. For those of you who had your surgery in the US and it was covered or partially covered by insurance, how long did it take for you to finish your prerequisites and then have it submitted by insurance and approved? I know my clinic told me they have a month, but I was just wondering what you all experienced!
  20. Did you do a pre-op psych eval? Is there anyway you could go and talk with the psychologist about this? There is a fairly common mental block called body dysmorphic disorder, where the person is so used to seeing their old self it really is hard for them to recognize how far they have come.
  21. Welcome! I am kelsie and I'm hoping to have surgery in mid-late March! I'm so excited for you!
  22. I imagine maybe they are talking about the coffee flavoring syrups? I can't remember the brand, maybe Torre? That is a good idea I never thought of!
