  1. You are so right. Oh and I lost 44 lbs total including pre op. I have lost 22 lbs since dec 5 surgery date. At 3 weeks my weight just halted but I'm not worried and def don't compare my success to my 600 lb life because they lose like 70 lbs in 2 months because their Bmi's are so high. So , we may lose a little slower but we are losing which is important. Sounds like he was just feeling a bit insecure and maybe he was also just worried about the surgical procedure involved. My husband wasn't on the boat at first and told me it was too extreme and dangerous and you and I had similar starting stats. Have you actually lost 44 lbs since surgery in December or does that include pre op? If it was in less than a month I am jealous, lol. I think that due to shows like my 600 lb life a lot of people feel that weight loss surgery is only an option for extreme cases. I was self pay so I felt that I needed my husband to be 100% on board. After some research he agreed but would've had no problem if I'd changed my mind. I told him once we made the decision that I didn't want to hear a single comment from now on unless it was supportive. I knew that there would be moments post op when I'd be wishing I hadn't done it and I'd need his support and not an "I told you so". He blew me away with how much support he gave me and how caring he was during my recovery. Sometimes men are just resistant to change, lol.
  2. Well , to update everyone. I am totally shocked that my hubby did a 360. He said that he was really impressed with how I look so far and he is excited to see end result. I have lost total 44 lbs so my body has really changed and he can't keep his hands off me. I told him that he is very superficial but he insists that he used to tell me how pretty I was at my heaviest as well ( yeah like twice a month compared to like 4 times a day since I lost all of this weight). I try not to focus on that too much due to I have so much going on . But it's bittersweet to me, sounds crazy but it is because I feel like oh now you find me irresistible but before , what was I ? Oh well... this is my year to focus on Diana and that's what I'm doing.
  3. You look awesome... what was your beginning and current weight??? Details please, how did you achieve such great success.
  4. Thank you. When my doc said I was .3 away from being full diabetic, I was scared to death. I also had such pain in my joints... my knee and hip were hurting me so much. But, since surgery, I have been pain fed. Glad we both took the plunge. I wish you continued success.
  5. Aww you are making me blush!!!! My son told me today that I look so much younger and that I am beautiful. That was so special to me. He always compliments me even at my heaviest. But he was with me for my surgery and drove 9 hours bk to Alabama from Tx. He is a true blessing. People don't believe me when I tell them I have a son that will be 21 this year, lol.
  6. Hi Gucci... but nothing major for my bday. Hubby wants to go out for dinner and I'm fretting that because I'm still doing very select food choices. My sleeve is picky. So I'm not sure if I wanna go to a restaurant. I may go to the casino, lol and hopefully win some money.
  7. That's smart but my curiosity will kill me, lol
  8. I would love to wear a size 8 dress... I am 5'6 and current weight 198 , goal weight 150 lbs. at my highest I was a tight 16 so an 8 would be dropping 8 dress sizes, that would be amazing.
  9. I still have about 47 lbs to lose but I'm just thinking slow n steady wins the race.i thank god for this blessing.
  10. Okay here is a before pic of my face ... I don't have many ....but that's me with the beanie on st my son's football game . He is a freshman in college now. But, my face was way chunkier, lol. Still cute smile though.
  11. Yes ma'am I'm going to look for a before right now and NSV stands for non scale victory. Meaning there are other ways to feel victorious in this journey besides what the scale reads.
  12. Omg ... you are my hero . You look wonderful. I want to be at 50 lbs in four months , I will be at goal. Girl you worked that sleeve. Forgive me for saying this, but your chin disappeared and your face totally changed which took off like 20 years. You are awesome. Congrats.
  13. My body is changing . I am currently down total 21.8 pounds from surgery date of dec 5( 44 lbs from pre op weight of 242 lbs). I feel my body changing daily. Scale isn't moving as fast as I would like but I am losing inches everywhere. New years I noticed my face looked different , even since surgery it has gotten a little more defined and smaller. I was like yayyyy, NSV. I have another great NSV. I bought an outfit from The Gap n baby I haven't been able to wear anything from there in like 16 years. I bought a large sweatshirt and size 14 pants ( I used to be a death grip 16 ????????) and the 14 had room and were baggy in waist as well as sweatshirt was very roomy... omg that was a victory for me.
  14. You look awesome. My goal weight is 150'as well. Starting weight 242... surgery weight 219 and current weight 198. Surgery was dec 5.... I can't wait to see results such as yours. Keep up the good work.
  15. Yaasssssss girl .... so happy for you. You will soon join the ranks of fellow sleevers of the world, lol. It's tough at first but press through it with prayer and discipline. I am so happy for your approval. What a great present for the new year. Now go out n but you something like 3 sizes or so too small and make that your short term goal as a treat to yourself once you drop some weight. That's what I did and I look at it all the time and say I'm coming for you. Hopefully by march I can fit it, lol ????. Keep me posted and if I can help with any questions send me a private message and I will be more than happy too.
  16. Amen girl ????... my husband was against surgery... I think for his own insecurities and he would tell me the same , I don't need it and I look just fine how I am. Well, fast forward 44 lbs down since my highest weight and he can't keep his hands off of me, lol. I had to do what was right for me and not him. And I did and I am so pleased thus far with outcome but still ways to go to goal but I am on track to getting there.
  17. Buy the little Water flavor packs... that is the only way I can drink water without feeling the urge to vomit every time. I'm 3 weeks and like 3 days out so I buy crystal light water flavor packs and I slice up a lemon in my 30 oz container and I definitely on it for hours.... it tastes great and it's refreshing. Try it n let me know.
  18. I have been watching your posts on different threads @@10stackzz and I must say you are always encouraging to others , motivational and kind. I appreciate that sentiment. You are really a good person for this. ????
  19. I think our bodies are playing catch up because I have lost like 6 ounces as well. Don't be discouraged... had surgery on dec 5 ? What day was your surgery? I'm just gonna keep pushing through. We will get there . My doctor told me following this plan after surgery that my body will lose weight until I am down to a 22-24bmi so we have to give it time but we will get there
  20. See there ... you have this under control. Leave the chocolate alone for now though, lol.... you will do just great. I can tell you are so full of life. You got this!!????????????
  21. So glad that you made the decision to be sleeved. I toiled over this decision for 5 years and finally said hay I have to take care of me. So I did. 3 weeks post op down 21 lbs and I am now a resident of onederland. God has been so good to me and I feel truly blessed to have this opportunity to be healthy again.
  22. @ Anna Nim, You're doing fabulous. Weight will come off , do what you are supposed to do and follow docs orders. I am 3 weeks post op and down 21 pounds but some people are down 25 pounds in 2 weeks. That doesn't bother me at all. Maybe they were bigger than I was on surgery day. My day of surgery I was 219 and as my surgeon said that is a lower bmi so I may lose slower but I started out at 242 lbs. So , when I see those amazing 3000 lbs lost in 2 weeks( I'm being sarcastic, lol) I don't worry about it and I keep doing what I'm supposed to do. Our journeys are our own individual journey. Don't be discouraged by numbers, what is your body showing you? Is it easier to walk down the street , are your clothes becoming looser, etc., etc. Create your own victories and don't be discouraged at all. Take care
  23. How neat that you are so far away yet still able to communicate with us. Yeah the sleeve is the same regardless of where you are. But glad to hear you are doing good. It gets better on down the road so I'm looking forward to that. I've been doing Owkay. I'm from Mozambique, but currently studying and was sleeved in South Africa (Cape Town). So the set of Vitamins that mostly people talk about here are totally different this side but the experience is the same at the end of the day,and that is why I joined this forum although I'm from the other side of the world Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. I agree, salut' to our healthier bodies and happier lives.
  25. I know that he probably is due to comments he has made. I have lived a good portion of my life putting myself on the back burner trying tonmake sure everyone else is ok. But now it's time to take care of me and that's what I have done . You know what, it feels pretty good to say that I did what was in my best interest for me to do and whoever doesn't like it ..... Oh well ????????
