  5. When you are a lady and your wardrobe consists of leggings and oversized shirts with belts or dresses with belts because your pants no longer fit. And another: when your tailbone KILLS you after sitting for a while. Ouch!

    Before and After Pics

You were SUCH a gorgeous bride!!! Congratulations on incredibly awesome success!
  7. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOUUU!!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App I remember feeling the same way. It was as if it were a surreal experience. I was excitedly looking forward but was afraid too as I didn't know what my experience would end up being like. But I must say, I've had a very non-typical experience overall: no food aversions, no vomiting, no problems major with digestion, and no surgical issues. I have been extremely fortunate indeed, but still taking things one day at a time. I hope that as you gear up for this journey, you feel a sense of peace and tranquility in knowing that you are making the best decision for YOU. I can't promise you that it will be easy, but I can promise you that it will be worth it. Dev

    Surgery Day is Tomorrow!

Love and blessings to you! I said a prayer tonight on your behalf.
  12. Hi everyone, I had my RNY on 8/8, and at a month out, I'm finding that pretty much every other day, all I want to do is sit/lie down. I try and push myself to be a bit more active, but it seems like in the days that follow, I end up paying dearly for it. I tried going back to work after four weeks and ended having to go home after half a day. My surgeon is granting me next week off so that I can rest; it's depressing. I just wish I knew when if be back to my "normal" again. Any thoughts/contributions? Thanks for everything!

    I Have a Surgery Date - RNY

Update: I had my RNYGB yesterday. Surgery went well. Things took close to 3 hours, but turned out very good. So far, no complications or complaints. I'm trying to breathe deeply since my lungs are still coming back. I've been walking too. It's tender and tight, but I have been moving! Nurses and staff have been great as well. No nausea/vomiting (I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one). Dr. Started me on liquids and I kept them down no problem. Heading home from hospital now. Thanks to everyone for al the love and support!
  15. Hello everyone, a few days ago, Kaiser contacted me with a surgery date for RNYGB for August 8th. I immediately felt panicked and a little bit as though I wanted to back out, but after some much needed breathing and calming down, I realized that I am on the right track. Pre-op diet will begin in a couple weeks. I'm realizing that this journey requires a lot of patience with self. Over the past few days, I've really had to give myself permission to be a human who feels emotions and who is sometimes fallible. I'm also realizing that I need to slow things down moment by moment so that I don't become overwhelmed. Thanks for all the encouragement!! Dev

    Kaiser

For me, it has been a 6 month process at Kaiser Fremont Bariatric. Went to two seminars, got scheduled for an initial consultation with surgeon and nutritionist, then was placed on the reduced calorie diet. I began this process in late February. I received a surgery date in mid July for August 8 (one week from today). Which Kaiser are you going through?
  22. @@LaDivaDev you are aces good luck with gastric bypass in august speedy recovery kathy Thanks, Grammy!!!
  23. Greetings, all! I think my take-away from Alex's post is this: "Be ever mindful that you communicate on this forum from a place of positive intent, and do your best to consider the impact it will have on the other person. Let this guide the manner in which you engage in this forum." In other words, this isn't the place to be a jerk. In a nutshell, that's the conclusion I came to. Works for me.
