  1. I too am very selective on who I tell. I found that since being on the liquid I have told a few more people. I also find myself telling people that this is not a cure all. If I don't diet and exercise it won't work. I don't know why I feel I have to explain myself. I have choose not the tell the one ignorant man I work that explained that all fat people need to do it duct tape our mouths shut. I did however want to reach across the table punch him in his mouth to help him drop a few. Alesha
  2. Please let us know what your dietian says tomorrow. I was wondering the same thing being on this pre op diet. (5 shakes a day for 5 weeks) Thanks Alesha
  3. Good for you. Good luck and keep us posted.
  4. Thanks Kathy, I can't wait until it is over. It is getting easier though. Looks like we might be getting banded around the same time. My pre op is 4/14. Good luck to you.
  5. I made it through the first week my pre op diet. My doctor has me on 4 weeks of 5 Medifast shakes a day. When I came home and read the calendar it was actually 5 weeks (even though they said it was 4) which made me go nuts. Anyway I did not do it exactly by the book. I did 3 shakes a day and one dinner, a piece of tilapia (100 calories) and steamed broccoli. I guess it was okay because I lost 10 lbs the first week. I know it is mostly water weight but I don't care. 10 lbs is 10 lbs. I was weighed in on Monday and now it is Friday and I lost another 3 lbs. My goal is 5 by weigh in next Monday.
  6. I just received my list of things to do. I am on a pre op diet for over 4 weeks of 5 medifast a day. 3 days before surgery Medifast, antibacterial shower with dial or Leaver 2000, 2 tbsp of Milk of Magnesia at 7pm, and Fleet Enema at 7pm. 2 days before surgery repeat 1 day before repeat everything except no medifast, only Clear Liquids.
  7. I am on day 2 of my pre op diet. 5 shakes and nothing else. Last night I broke down and had some steamed broccoli to fill me up before bed or I would not have been able to sleep.
  8. I really wish I could eat a protein meal. I wonder why some doctors require different diets. I am on 5 shakes a day, no food, for over 4 weeks.
  9. I have my surgery date, most of the tests done, and I started the liquid diet today. The doctors office told me it was too early to send the information in and get approval. My surgery date is 4-28-08. I have BCBS of NY. Really????? What happens if they deny me? Do I have to stay on the liquid diet for longer than the 4 weeks I am on it? I am so confused?
  10. I just started my 4 week Medifast diet. The doctor requires it of all his patients. I am just wondering what is a resonable goal to set for myself. Did anyone else have to do a 4 week diet and how much did you lose? Thank you for the help.
