Atkins/Stalled
I think 86 pounds in 7 months is a lot. You just need to stick to high protein and low carb. Your body might stall for a month to catch up and if you stick to 1000-1200 calories a day you will see the scale move. Even Atkins has added more carb to their diet

Recovery from Band Removal vs. Sleeve Surgery?
My recovery from revision surgery was very easy. I was I was 45 when I got the band - 52 for revision. It was done in 1 surgery and I did not have the gas pain like I did with the band surgery. I was expecting the recovery to be long & painful and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was

What's normal weight loss?
Don't compare yourself to anyone. It will just frustrate you. Just be happy to continue to lose , even if it's only 1 pound a week. I'm one if the slow losers, anywhere between 1-2 pounds a week but I never hit a stall so I'm happy

Salads!
I stArted at 2 months post op. We have a salad bar in our cafeteria at work and I make a salad every day and cut up chicken in the salad. When I had the lapband that was the easiest way for me to eat meat and it still is easy for me to digest

What was your out of pocket?
My insurance only covered 80% so my portion came to $3100.00 and I got a separate bill from Anesthesia for $467.00. I only stayed 1 night in the hospital because I felt fine. I'd you stay longer your bill will go up

April 30 surgery update from hospital room.
The nurse told us while watching TV to sip during every commercial break. It helped keep me on track to get the fluids in

Dumb question
I will occasionally eat the "sandwich thin" but I'll toast it. I have 1 cup of pasta every other week which suits my cravings. I'm 3 months out and haven't been to a restaurant yet- I don't want to take the chance on regular bread. I'll also use a low carb pita as a pizza crust to make pizza on

It's so hard to ignore all the food commercials!
The food commercials were killing me the first few weeks post op. Once I started eating food- I stopped noticing the commercials.

2 Days Post Open Severe Nausea
I would probably be so hysterical that they would have to sedate me. My concern is how she feels after the stone - I hope this is really the cause

My stomach gurgles for about 15 minutes after I eat. Then all is quiet again

Observations on having band removed.
Mine was done at the same time. My recovery went very smooth

Gastric Sleeve and E. Coli :)
Glad you are better but your health is more important. Besides, your diet should be "low carb" not "no carb". Just get back on track & you will be fine. It's good that you followed your doctors advice to get healthy even though it meant eating more.

Feeling blue? Time to "Baby-Up"!
My dog & I will spend a couple of hours at the dog park during nice weather. She's cooped up every day while I'm at work so this gives her the opportunity to run and play with all her friends and I enjoy meeting all the people and playing with all the interesting dogs I see there. My surgery was during the horrible winter we had in MA so I hated being cooped up during that time.

"Time of the month" cravings
I no longer have that "time of the month" lol but I gave into cravings a couple of times and then lost interest in those foods. I have found that the Atkins chocolates and Russell Stover Sugar Free chocolate satisfies my chocolate craving. I have 2 every day at work
