  1. :frown: Tony was my doc too - fab guy! Last time he saw me was at my 'goal weight' of 65kgs back in August before I moved over to Italy.. I'm coming back to Perth in April, I think he will be surprised as I've dropped another 13kgs since i left (oops) I was paranoid and wouldnt let him loosen my band before i left - cant wait to come have a loosening! Plastic surgery.. I had some friends have skin removed etc - they actually got to claim it on health care too - i can try find out more. Another friend of mine went to Thailand to do all his surgery and he had some GREAT results with a low cost... what are you thinking of?
  2. Hi Amy.. I've met you! I just had a look at your blog, and you are the girl that mum and i chat to the last 2 apts i have been to! i just posted my pictures on another thread that you did as well... funny  I will def flick you an email x
  3. hi guys.. i am gonna give the pic posting a shot too... so far have lost 25.9kgs - was banded in september this is me on the left a few weeks before banding in late August and this is me on the right 30/12/07 its so weird cos i still think the same... like i still feel like a fat girl if you know what i mean??
  4. it also depends how bad it is... i'm lucky cos i wasnt really big to start with and i am still in my 20s o hopefully it wont effect me... but a family friend who had the banding done and lost over 60kgs has had recontructive surgery (arms, tummy, thighs) and this was all covered on HBF for her... its a really expensive and painful procedure too- so something you might want to think about... i have another friend (a guy) that is having it done in March, he is actually going to a Perth doctor who also works in Thailand a few months of the year- it was gonna cost him something crAzy like $30,000 to have it done here and the same doc is doing it in Thailand for $12,000!! including a face lift, turkey neck tummy tuck etc.. so there are other avenues if your health insurance wont cover! And if you go to thailand you get a nice relaxing holiday out of it too!!! hehe... they are really good over there too, clean, luxury hospitals, nothing to worry about like the crap you see/hear on the media.
  5. hey guys! i am definitely in for that! lets organise it! my email is nikki@pfr.com.au
  6. oops sorry Amy... i meant my next appt was on 7/1/08 also! we should organise a bit of a lapbanders Sunday lunch somewhere and meet eachother! Its always great to have a support group
  7. Hi everyone  I am Dr Kierath's patient also (or as i like to call him "TK") I was also banded at Bethesda Hospital on the 17th Sep 07.. so far i hav lost 25.9kgs and i am feeling great! he is an awesome doc too, so nice and easy to talk to! Amy - my appt is also on 8/2/08 what time are you going in? i will be there for 1.15pm. Mojo - you were worried about waiting time, so i will just let you know that i had my banding 2 weeks after my 1st appt which he said is his standard waiting time, which is great cos i thought like most ops it would be months of waitlist! so hopefully you will be the same
  8. i've lost 26kgs which works out to about 57lbs and i find that my skin has been fine except the "bingo" arms... but i have been using light weights to tone them up and they are getting better... i also started taking supplements called "silica compound" which is great for the skin and hair (i found my hair was thining a bit) and i can definitely see a great improvement in my skins elasticity and my hair looks much healthier and thicker!
  9. Hi! I'm only 23, but am from Australia and see there is some fellow aussies in here, hope you dont mind me joining in.
  10. i didnt know that you shouldnt press on your tummy to help it come up... sometimes i have to force it a bit with fingers down the pipe- gross i know... but yes definitely know when it is gonna happen... but somtimes look a bit odd going to the bathroom after you've only just started your meal!
  11. wow! you look great :girl_hug: i'm new to this board, been banded since Sept last year, i live in Australia- so we dont use the lbs thing? but i've lost about 25kgs now... and lik eyou guys have all said, i feel better- thats for sure, but i still think like i'm a fat person, i know the clothes are fitting in smaller sizes and i still buy things that are too big for me cos i just dont realise- its so weird Nikki
