  1. I am not yet pregnant but my DH and I are going to start trying in March (18mo after my surgery just like my surgeon said). I was wondering did any of you have a lot of extra skin on your stomach and if so how did that impact your stretch marks and the baby bump as your pregnancy progressed? Did you show earlier? Did you even get stretch marks? How long before people could tell you were pregnant? Kandi
  2. You are both normal every one is different, some people felt like they could eat a horse after surgery and some felt like water was an effort, me I was a give me the water keep that food away kinda gal. Every one will react differently you should only worry if you cannot keep anything down and really try to follow your doctors post op eating plan to avoid any complications.
  3. People at work are noticing my weight loss as well, and I am only 8 lbs away from my wedding goal ( wedding is in June) my size 14 dress came in finally... and ...IT FITS!!!
  4. My doc said no gum because he has had to surgically remove three (3!) pieces from various patients. I am not chewing gum at all because I used to swallow it all the time.
  5. When It was really hard for me (because food was also my addiction), I knit, and knit and knit, I did not put on the pressure to make anything but more rows of yarn. Not a sweater not a scarf no time to finish it in, I just knit, and it helped. After a while it was like, wow I wonder how long I can make this thing... (mine is probably 20+ feet long). Also I have heard of several people who become addicted to exercise after banding. Anything to keep you hands and mind busy.
  6. Collar Bones The ability to shop in a "normal" store Self Confidence Closet Space ( I just got rid of everything that was greater that a size 16 or a Large) More room in my skin (saggy just sound sad) Anyone else want to add anything?
  7. I have just now lost over 100 lbs 5 mo out! You can do it!
  8. I am embarrassed, embarrassed I ever let my self get to the point where I needed surgery to help me loose weight. Embarrassed at how little self control I had. Now, if they ask, I tell them. If they don't, hey don't ask don't tell. I am not however ashamed of my surgery. Kandi
  9. Sounds like a slipped band, SEE YOUR DOCTOR. You could really be hurting your body by going on this way.
  10. I too started reading this site in January, joined later, and didn't get banded until this past September, I have to say though, It was scary, it wasn't easy, but IT IS WORTH IT, I am already down 42lbs, three pant sizes, two shirt sizes, and a half a shoe size. You go mgirl
  11. I have lost 42lbs 30 of them since 9/11 when I was banded
  12. I have gone down two shirt and two pant sizes and I am going to a local lap band support group meeting next month for their clothing exchange, and I actually have clothes that are too big for me that I am going to take now!!!
  13. Okay, I have a question, in my mushies stage, which thankfully I am out of, my nutritionist said to add cheese in things to increase the protein content of food, I have read many of your daily food logs that include cheese, and yet, I have a paper here, that the bariatric coordinator at the hospital gave to me, that says, "Cheese is nothing but glorified fat, stay away from cheese" has anyone else had this mentioned to them, i thought cheese was good... and what about fat free cheese?
  14. I don't feel anything, I don't feel hungry I don't feel full, eating is a chore, its easier just not to do it because I can't feel ANYTHING. Is this normal... most every one I have read about is either hungry or restricted, not nothing.
