Now when I see MO people...
In Germany gin seems to be the latest hype.

Now when I see MO people...
I recently tasted different new vinegars at the small shop I sometimes buy wine, pesto and well - vinegar. It never occurred to me to taste pure vinegars before on a little spoon.

Now when I see MO people...
SCNR taking a picture of the contents of my shopping cart. It's a bad angle because I felt like a weird creep taking a photo of the food and tried not to be that obvious. ?

Now when I see MO people...
I can see clearly now that some people have their own definition of "adventure shopping". ?

That's the most sensible explanation I've heard on this subject so far.

Weight loss and gain
No. Why should I? It's still statistics and a person is not number 1.256 in some study someone conducted but always an individual in the end. So if daily weighing drives one crazy, raises anxiety and obsessive behavior, it might be the more sensible decision to abstain from daily weighing as long as they're satisfied with the results.

Weight loss and gain
Statistics. If people are driving themselves crazy with daily weighing that's not the thing to do for them. As long as the weight is going into the right direction there is no need for this kind of obsession.

Struggling with food cravings
Since you're only 3.5 weeks out I guess you're on a pretty low calorie diet? Maybe not even on food you can chew on? If you're not one of the people who've lost hunger and/or appetite it's quite normal to think about food all the time when on a low calorie diet (or any diet, lol). Advice? If you don't want to act on your urges, don't act on them. Part of your brain might tell you, that you absolutely have to act on these cravings but you don't have to.

Just had my 6 week follow up and told I need to eat more
WLS has quite a lot of interesting effects not only on the body but also on the mind. One of them seems to be losing perspective on what constitutes "a high calorie diet". *shrug*

3 Year Sleeve Anniversary
This. I always hated when people commented on my weight loss in a way that made me feel like I was somehow less worth as a fat person.
-
I’m not losing weight anymore!
Seems to depend more on the person than on the type of WLS. Also one has to differentiate between "hunger" and "appetite".

What is your goal weight?

Diabetic for over 20 years, BMI just under 31.
Gastric bypass is done as metabolic surgery on patients with hard to treat T2 diabetes, even with a BMI that is relatively low. You might want to gather information specifically about gastric bypass as metabolic surgery and not so much as bariatric surgery.

Food journal apps?
Depends on how much detail you want. MyFitnessPal seems to be quite popular. I personally prefer CRON-O-meter.

Is it too late for me?
You could always go lower with intake then and/or up your exercise when you notice that weight loss has stopped. However, it's always the choice of the patient which route to take (slow/steady or fast/over with it) though I sometimes think that it's not really a choice but the patient needs to choose what he/she can live best with.

Is it too late for me?
This is why I take a more expensive supplement. It's made from the whole fruits and vegetables so there should also be phytonutrients included.

Is it too late for me?
You can definitely lose weight after that. Eat less calories than your body needs and you're going to lose weight, even if you're several years out. I'm hesitant to recommend anything. Do you continue to lose weight? What's your level of satisfaction so far? Would you be satisfied if your weight loss would e. g. continue over the next two years at this rate?

Dr. V: Why you shouldn't exercise after WLS
If you like it you should keep up with it. Otherwise I wouldn't give a damn about what the majority is saying or not.

Getting a Revision - but OMG NOT because of weight regain!!!!
It can't be repeated often enough.

Getting a Revision - but OMG NOT because of weight regain!!!!
Honestly? No idea. I don't have a sleeve but an MGB and I don't understand how people can gain large amounts of weight back, maybe gaining it all back, maybe gaining it all back and then some. Why? Because I feel like I don't know how to do this. I eat (from my point of view) a lot, I often eat until I feel really full, I also don't shy away from calorie rich food, I'm not living in the gym... so I wonder how much and how often people would need to eat way above what feels comfortable in the stomach to gain that much weight. I can't imagine that all of this can be blamed upon "going back to old habits". I personally think that WLS has different impact on different people. Not only in the sense of who gets to a normal weight and how fast and/or how easy they go there, but also in the sense of how hard or easy maintaining is for them.

Getting a Revision - but OMG NOT because of weight regain!!!!
I think sometimes people simply don't want to know. Thinking about the possibility that this "last chance" won't finally bring salvation can be a real hope-crusher because: if this doesn't work either, what then? Sometimes I also think that "the roots of our issues" with weight is that we can't get away with eating that much as some other people can and that willpower is not coming from a bottomless well (yes, I know...most likely not a very popular opinion). And at some point it became a vicious cycle, a point many other people will never reach. The older I get (and the more people my age I have seen gaining weight over the years), the more I'm convinced that many people might not have "that evil trauma or issue" in the past that needs to be worked through. Changing countless habits and sticking with new ones that might be a real hassle? Needs too much willpower in the long run. Ah, just rambling a little here, sorry ... I think people in my environment gain a little more weight year after year and this strikes me in an odd way.
