Energy Drinks?? Bangs?
Depends. We were allowed to introduce caffeine back after 4 weeks so I personally don't see a problem with caffeine when it comes to the digestion system (though you might not want to drink as much coffee as I do, lol). Energy drinks - I drink them rarely. Most of them are not suiting my taste preferences and the ones that do are not that easy to get in my area for whatever reason (I like the sugar free Monster ultra sunrise but most stores don't carry the sugar free version).

800 calories
No idea. I eat way more than this. I maybe ate 800 kcal in the immediate post-op phase but we're talking a few weeks here.

Pita bread question
Which makes me wonder what some surgeons or nutritionists seem to think. That we're cyborgs or something? Programmed by WLS to never wanting food x or y again? Meh, I'm in rant mood tonight.

Pita bread question
Not every post-op diet shuns carbohydrates. I wish people would keep this in mind and stop acting like they're about to commit a deadly sin or serious crime when wanting to eat "carbs". I never had problems with bread, including pitas.

If you upped your carbohydrate intake after eating low-carb it's pretty normal to gain water weight. Carbohydrates won't make you magically gain fat, a calorie surplus will make you gain fat (but think about how much calories you'd have to eat to really gain 1.5 lbs of fat).

I’ve always wanted??!! What are yours?
Living in a fancy house with big windows, a nice terrace, a big garden and a big pool near the beach. (no way that will ever happen, lol, I'd need to be a gazillionaire)

Alcohol?? ?
It's different for the bypass people. When I first tried coke zero with whiskey it hit hard and fast. Luckily I tried it at home as advised, lol. I rarely drink alcohol, it was never my drug of choice, and that makes me extra sensitive on top. Interestingly enough I didn't notice a lot of change with weight. I used to get bombed on a relatively small amount of alcohol at my highest weight, too.

Alcohol?? ?
Depends. I can remember being advised not having alcoholic beverages for about 4 months or so and that we should try with caution because one can get drunk really quick. For me, it can hit like a hammer, depending on the beverage. However, this is only the "technical site of it" so to say. That one can have alcohol after some weeks or months doesn't mean that one should drink alcohol regularly (WLS or not).

I use e. g. these - they're made out of sunflower protein. They have a rather neutral taste but add a nice crunch.

Never bothered. Would have driven me crazy.

It's a store bought paste. I sometimes make peanut sauce myself or use peanut butter in stews though but I like this paste quite a lot.

Running wild on the fusion kitchen (yes, I am using up the stuff in my pantry and fridge before vacation, lol): broccoli with udon noodles, yellow onion, fake grilled chicken and vegan "Pizzaschmelz" on top, greek spice mix.

Green beans with tempeh and sweet & hot soy sauce. The leftover Klöße weren't the best match for that but it was ok. ?

Is this it?
That's what the plastic surgeon and bariatric surgeon at follow-up recently said to me. As I said: loose skin is a huge mind f*ck.

Is this it?
As I said: loose skin is a huge mindfuck. I wonder how I will feel after plastics. However, I don't have that problem with looking at a BMI 46 woman in the mirror but I sometimes feel horribly fat. Whenever I feel horribly fat I get in front of the mirror and take a look at myself (fully clothed though). This works especially good when looking into reflecting surfaces like e. g. glass doors when I'm standing next to someone else and can compare my frame to the other person to put things into perspective, doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman or if the person is thin or fat.

I think you Aussies (and I have no doubt we Germans as well) will catch up in time. When I think about the desert that was vegan food or gluten free food only several years ago, we have caught up quite well (or so I think, at least I noticed that the aisle with the gluten free products has grown a quite a bit). When it comes to low-carb I don't really pay attention, but my husband does. There are quite a few protein-breads available (that shouldn't be allowed to be labeled as "bread" though IMO) and I've seen low-carb muesli, protein bars, chips and the like. I miss a good dairy-free cheese substitute though one can put on grilled sandwiches, casseroles and pizza. The substitutes I tried so far are all more or less ?.

Burger buns? I've only seen the sweet stuff on their website. This stuff looks indeed good. But yes, you're absolutely right: pretty expensive.

Is McDonalds gone for good?
Fast Food/Junk Food addict here are well. Not when it comes to fast food restaurants or delivery foods - but in my own home. See some meals in the food pictures thread, lol. I use meat substitutes way too often.

Yes. You can buy the refrigerated dough and just roll the balls and put them in salted hot water. Not that bad. I prefer them actually baked though.
