How soon after surgery did you start Prilosec
And...how're you feeling?

How soon after surgery did you start Prilosec
I just filled my vitamins and meds for after surgery. Whoa! I will be taking something every two hours the entire time I'm awake!

How soon after surgery did you start Prilosec
I've never taken any of these meds before. I'll google the side effects so I know what to look out for. Thanks.

How soon after surgery did you start Prilosec
So you were able to swallow the pill right away?

How much you can eat ?
I'm going into this with the attitude of not "what can I get away with" eating. Having restriction for a while will certainly help. This is part of a change I want to make forever and I have to do my part. My sister had gastric bypass when it was fairly new and she changed her eating habits very little. While she has stayed around 220 from 350 I know she isn't happy there. She just didn't make the changes needed. On the other hand I have no doubt she'd be over 400 by now had she not had it. Now I'm inspiring her to eat more protein and first. Dense protein [emoji16]

How soon after surgery did you start Prilosec
My surgeon called in a script of Prilosec for after surgery. For those that were prescribed this, how soon did you begin taking after surgery? Thanks!

Anyone ketogenic?
I'm doing keto as soon as I can eat again.

How much you can eat ?
It makes me wonder if some surgeons vary the size of the sleeve. Or would that make a big difference? I don't think I had a clue how all over the place this is. From preop to pain to food consumption. There seems to be wild variations. I better hang on and be ready for whatever this ride brings me.

Anyone tried a Hydration Station?
If you start to become dehydrated you can go to a hospital with a "hydration station" and get an IV of fluids.

Started the liver shrink today!
Dang. So is it going to be weird to be operated on by colleagues?
-
catheters
Lol! I'm so looking forward to being on the other side. These two weeks have crawled.

Pretty nervous...
Do you think surgery will be easier for you now that you're so much lighter? It's scary for sure. They must feel confident you'll do ok though. I can't imagine they'd do it if it were extremely risky. My friend lost 15 lbs in skin when she had her tummy tuck. You'll be so much closer to goal when you wake up! Sending good vibes!

Gout, A side effect from getting sleeved?
Interesting. I was told to drink this same thing for gallbladder attacks.

Any May Sleevers?
I'd start a new thread asking about this.

catheters
I was told I'd have one and that surgery was two hours? Wth?

Recovery timeline?
You remind me of my dad. He has his gallbladder out and was beebopping all over town in two days. I had mine out and could barely walk for a week! He was 75, 35 years older than I was. [emoji31]

Recovery timeline?
What made you decide to struggle through the pain? Did it taste awful or upset your stomach? You guys give me hope I won't need the meds. I have to stay in the hospital for two nights because of previous dvt.

Recovery timeline?
Wow! I'd love to be off pain meds after three days!

Regret, full feeling, satisfaction
How long ago did you have surgery? Encouraging!

Not going to apologize for being vain
If I were younger that would be what it's about for me. Now that I'm 53 and have health issues, it changed to health, but I'm sure gonna enjoy looking better too. Win/win!

Pre op bowel prep?
I definitely don't do a bowel prep. Two weeks of low carb/calorie/fat then the day before just clear liquids. I can't wait to be on the other side of this.

Recovery timeline?
I discovered I can't do premiere protein. I order unjury online. I'm on the preop diet still but lots of others can tolerate. I just mixed unflavored protein powder in with my crystal light drink and I can't taste it at all. I was amazed because it's a lot of powder! Give it a try. Sorry you're feeling lousy.

Regret, full feeling, satisfaction
Ugh. Did you eat something you shouldn't have? Sorry you're feeling crappy. I hope the elated arrives soon but I fear it's a few weeks away. Please remind me of this when I'm in this funky phase. I feel for you.

Any May Sleevers?
I have a couple friends who have had the sleeve and they are enjoying life to the fullest and have been for a few months! I wouldn't think the first year is hell unless you have complications. Maybe the first month though. You'll see here that everyone is so different. Some are hungry some have to force themselves to eat. I'm going the 22 and understand that fear of the unknown. I guess we just have to dive in and deal with what comes. Good luck.

Any May Sleevers?
Were you in pain for 12 days? Are you on full liquid still or purée? Glad you're feeling more like yourself but sorry you're hungry. That stinks.
