  1. I stalled too when I was only consuming 650-750 calories per day. Once I upped it to 1000 per day I started losing again.
  2. I take colace every night (3 months out) after a very bad experience going #2 in a public place. I'm afraid to be constipated again.
  3. I too hurt quite a long time after surgery at the incision site where my stomach was removed. I took pain meds and walked. It did go away and I feel GREAT now (3 months later which includes getting my gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago).
  4. My thoughts & prayers are with you and your son. Just having this forum to share your thoughts & feelings can hopefully give you a small outlet to vent and help you through this difficult time. It's want all mothers want, their kids to be happy and healthy.

  12. Just an FYI update. It turns out my pain and misery had nothing to do with constipation. The tube from my drain had somehow slipped and worked its way down near my lower intestines. Once they removed the drain I was 100% better. Didn't even have a BM for another 2+ days but felt great.

  18. Day 7 - still miserable ???? The enema & suppositories were useless - nothing - just continued pain. Have my appt with surgeon this morning and am praying for some type of relief. I'm too afraid to take my pain meds because I know that adds to the constipation.

  24. Seriously, thanks so much to those that have chimed in. It's nice to know I'm not alone but seemingly in the minority (still feeling bad this far out). I called my surgeon (he gives all his patients his cell #) and he suggested an enema or suppository. He would prefer me not to take anything orally right now but I'm also still in the 1st week clear liquid only stage. Here's hoping! ????
  25. Thanks for the words of encouragement - it helps. My incisions all feel fine. My miserableness seems to be coming from the abdominal constipation like pain. I have my 1 week check up tomorrow morning so I guess I'll start watching that "Making a Murderer" documentary just to get my mind off of how bad I feel.
  26. Thanks Marcia! I keep hoping.
  27. Going into this surgery I had convinced myself I would be one of these people who felt fabulous after day 2. Well day 5 I'm still crying myself to sleep because I feel so bad. I'm walking at least 2 miles a day (spread out of course) - but admit to having trouble getting all my liquids in. I also have not pooped in about 10 days now and am wondering if a suppository would help with my uncomfortableness. The halitosis is shocking too as I must be in some major ketosis. Prayers & advice welcome!
  28. @@jessmarie - I'm in the same boat as you. I had my sleeve on the 19th and after all the reading I did beforehand I was convinced I would be one of those "no issues at all with recovery". Boy was I wrong. Broke down and cried to my sister yesterday. Want to give it time before I say I regret it, but it's much harder than I anticipated. I remember people saying they were having trouble getting all their fluids down and thinking "how hard can it be?" I was used to drinking over a gallon of Water a day. My abdomen is in pain. I feel gassy & constipated. I'm lucky if I get 40 oz of liquid in. I bought Protein Jello from the hospital and the thought of them makes me want to gag. I'm praying it gets better real soon. I quit the heavy duty pain meds cause that's adding to my constipated feelings. I clearly am not in control of this vehicle but I'm buckled up and hope the trip gets easier REAL SOON!
