Exercise Today
You're very welcome. I've seen as much as a 4 lb. gain after exercising.

Exercise Today
Yes, I noticed this and it's because you are building muscle, which weighs more than fat. It should eventually even out so that you're on the losing side again.

Once Banded, How Much Weight Did You Lose In The First 2 Months?
At 2 months out, I was down 26 pounds. I'm now 10 1/2 months out and have lost a total of 86 pounds. 86 pounds/45 weeks = 1.91 pounds/week I have 28 pounds to go before I reach my goal.

Anyone wish they would have had gastric bypass?
I do not wish I would have had gastric bypass. Had lap band surgery not been available, I would have remained at my pre-surgery weight. Gastric bypass was NEVER an option for me.

In theory this should work...
If you're properly restricted, you probably wouldn't be able to eat anywhere near the portions you've listed in your post-banding menu.

I've been hit on!!
I don't think I've been blatantly hit on but men do seem to wave and smile at me a lot now while I'm in my car.

Gone for Good Club - July 2006
C 189 (- 85 total, + 1 this week) WTF?? :tea: The sad thing is, I was down to 186 on Sunday and Monday. I finally reached my personal goal of jogging non-stop for 2 miles on Monday night and then yesterday morning, I weighed 189. I haven't changed my eating habits, etc. so, again, WTF?? I do admit that I'm a slave to the scales and have asked my DH to hide them and to only let me weigh on Wednesday mornings. I'm leaving my ticker and signature at 186 because I WILL get there again soon!!

New Orleanians & Neighbors?
JoAnn - a few of us from the New Orleans area meet informally about once a week. You're more than welcome to join us. Keep in mind though, we are a mixture of lap band and RNY people. If you check out the Louisiana board on obesityhelp.com you'll find threads about meetings, etc. I believe there is an official OH chapter meeting this Thursday in Baton Rouge. Again, there will be both lap band and RNY people there but you're sure to find the support you need. Good luck!

Cheating..No, not with food!
Thanks for clarifying, Amy. I greatly appreciate it.

Is it really Gone for Good?
I also wanted to add that my PCP was not only aware and educated about the band but wholeheartedly supported my decision.

Cheating..No, not with food!
While I agree with a lot of what Funny has said, I don't necessarily agree with the religious aspect of it. Maybe that stems from my being agnostic but, to me, it's just a matter of morals and character.

Is it really Gone for Good?
I agree with the other posters. This is not a drastic change and, if used properly, can be a very useful tool. I've been banded for a little over 10 months and I've lost 88 pounds. As far as I am concerned, they are GONE FOR GOOD!! Alexandra mentioned that you should bring the Inamed Patient Handbook to your PCP so that she is better educated. I think this is a great idea. I've uploaded one to my server in the event you don't have one. http://www.triciakutz.com/lbt/LBPatientBook.pdf

Weekend Weight Loss
Aww...I'm sorry Emilee! You're sooooo close to 199 though.

Why no drinking during meals
Christopher, the reason you should wait at least 1 hour after a meal before drinking is because it will essentially flush all of the food through the band. This defeats the whole purpose of the band, which is to restrict your intake and make you full on less food. If you've flushed the food through your band, you're going to get hungry sooner than you should.
