    Surgeons in Phoenix

Dr. Arnold was my surgeon and he works with Dr.Potter. They are both the top ranked surgeons in Arizona for bariatric surgeries. I have had no issues at all. They are both amazing!

  10. I use my fitness pal and I have a Fitbit HR, I LOOOVE them and would be lost without them!!! I totally recommend! They sink together and calculate all the information for you!
  11. So yesterday, I got my period for the first time since I had my surgery (Dec 16th). It was a bit late, but I know my hormones are changing with the weight loss so I didn't think anything of it. So now yesterday, I got it and have been really sick ever since I haven't been able to eat more than a couple of bites. I'm extremely nauseous, tired, and my body feels like it was hit by a truck. The little I have eaten literally feels like it's hitting my uterus as it goes down and gives me a really bad stomach ache. Like I have been spending a lot of time in the bathroom.. I have to note that I have had no issues since my surgery up until now. All food goes down fine, I haven't been nauseous or thrown up at all. Is this normal? Is this something that will go away when my hormones balance out? I just don't know if I can handle this every time my period comes around and I don't think me not being able to eat for 3 or 4 days is healthy... I feel terrible Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    **Question for Women**

Thank you all so much for your help! It's the weekend (My doctors office isn't open) and by Monday, I should have 4 days down. If I'm still feeling this bad by Monday, I'll give them a call just to check in. But from what it sounds like, this may be what my first couple months will be like. I'll keep you all posted! Thank you so much again!! ❤️❤️
  13. I had really bad acid reflux/heart burn when I woke up (this by far was the worst part of my experience and lasted the whole time I was in the hospital) and some tenderness in my abdomen. Not painful but sore. Also, just like everyone else, I was bloated with fluids. I went in on surgery day at 258 and came out at 263 lol But it went away. Oh and something I don't hear a lot of people talk about but was miserable for me was the dry mouth! I had ice chips in my mouth constantly otherwise I couldn't even talk lol.

Pill form vitamins 7 months post op?

I went in for my 2 week post op appointment and my doctor told me I could take pills so I'm sure at 7 months post op you are fine. If you're really concerned, ask your doctor.

Also! The Premiere protein shakes are the best! ???? I drink those too! By far my favorite out if all the ones I've tried!

    is this normal

I am 15 days post op and had no issues at all with liquids or protein. I got 64 ounces of liquids a day and 60 grams of protein. No pain or nausea. I thought something was wrong with me too because my dad had the sleeve 3 years ago and what he explained post op to be like was nothing like what I have experienced. I understand your concern because I have been reading everyone's experience on here and thinking, mine is nothing like there's but I've come to realize after talking to my doctor that everyone's process is different. Many factors come into play, your age, health before surgery, weight, etc. And for the future, in case your similar to me, my doctor just switched me over to soft/solid foods (which I also read and have been told is a hard transition) and I have not been nauseous or thrown up once. When I'm full I get this kinda "punch" is the only way I can describe it to my sternum and I don't eat anymore. I am able to eat about 4 ounces a sitting, depending on what I'm eating. Because I am taking food down so well though, I have been very careful to keep track of nutrition and calories on my fitness pal. Hope this helps ???? You are doing just fine.
  17. Dannon lot and fit Greek nonfat yogurt is awesome! And it has 12 grams of protein per serving. It comes in a ton of flavors too.
  18. I totally get where you are all at and actually, it makes me feel better knowing it's a normal thing. I'm 2 weeks post op and have lost 23 pounds. I don't see any difference at all and I put on my 18 jeans and they still fit the exact same. I'm not sure where that 23 pounds came from. I look in the mirror and besides my face slimming down, I look the same. Very odd! Lol This was definitely not something I expected when going into the surgery. I've lost large sums of weight before but I could always see it and feel it. I wonder why this is different?
