I absolutely hate myself in pics. I seem to always get the goofiest looks. Enter at your own risk!
  2. My first fill is scheduled for Friday March 21st. 6 weeks exactly from my surgery date. It couldn't come any quicker, I'm hungry! :sneaky: Hope it doesn't hurt too bad!!!
  3. I also had my banding surgery in Tijuana, Mexico with Dr Lopez Corvala. My surgery was done 2/8/08 and at the Hospitales Angeles in Tijuana. Dr Corvala and his assistants were super helpful. They truely want you to suceed. The ONLY complaint I have is really partly my fault. I felt like a complete outsider at the hospital because about 99% of the nurses and staff speak only spanish. I speak about 10 words of spanish. I felt it a little uncomfortable when a nurse would come into my room and inject my iv with a Fluid but could not communicate to me what it was for. Like I said, I knew I was going to Mexico, I should've brushed up on the espanol. Luckily I have a doc about 45 mins away that has gladly accepted me for my aftercare. My insurance is nill and he understands peoples reasons for going to Mexico due to costs. Good luck with your journey and research. I know word of mouth is the best advertising, I would go to Dr Corvala again in a heartbeat. Good luck!
  4. Thanks all for posting your info. I live south of KC about 45 mins and was wondering who I will go to for a fill. I am getting banded in Mexico by Dr Corvala this Friday, Feb 8th. I was considering going to Farmington, MO to the Fill Centers USA, but really wasn't looking forward to the drive. I will be contacting Dr Malley's office as soon as I return from surgery. Thanks for all the great info.
  5. No one has brought up this point yet, so I will. MEN fart BECAUSE THEY ENJOY IT. They like the sound, they like the smell and they love it when we (the women) gripe and throw a fit. My hubby has told me before that he likes to get my feathers ruffled because 2 reasons: 1-he likes to see me pissy because he thinks it is cute 2-he thinks he will get some make-up play (if ya know what i mean) So, just wanted to bring up these points. I truely believe this is why men do it so much more than women.
  6. I haven't heard of that clinic that comes to Spf either. I live south of Kc and am looking for some fill clinics to compare for the future. I will keep an eye out for you.
  7. So happy for you! One of these days I will be there too
  8. I've just contacted Dr Corvala's office and they said I could get scheduled by next week. I will probably put it off another week or so due to airline tickets. I've read that you only need a passport if you are flying into Mexico. But, at their office they meet you at the San Diego airport. So, technically I don't think I need a passport yet. Please correct me if you know that I'm wrong.
  9. my hubby has bad acid reflux (he's not banded). If he goes without his meds he will actually get a restriction in his throat from the acid scarring it. He will have food get stuck in his throat and he has to "PB" or he can't even breath sometimes. Weird how the body works.
  10. I am soo new to this whole forum thing. As well as I have just recently started researching the lapband. Instead of paying the $17500 that a local surgeon wants for the surgery, I am STRONGLY considering going to Mexico. I have done some searching and reading into Dr Juan A Lopez Corvala at the Obesity Control Clinic. Any yeas or neas that someone could provide to me? I do appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks!
