Last visit
I had my last (6th) PCP Supervised Diet Visit this morning! I lost 4lbs in the 6 months. Dropped off everything at my surgeons office. Now for the wait to hear back from insurance! I'm excited and nervous. My surgeons office said the insurance has 30 days to send an approval letter and once I get one they'll give me a surgery date. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Uhc bariatric support group
I needed to have a call with the UHC Optum Bariatric Service Center at the very beginning of my process. She just asked me questions and has been available to answer any questions I have.

Liquid diet day 2-STRUGGLING
You've totally got this! BUT! Lmao, I just added you as a friend on here because of this amazing sentence: "I'm on day 2 and all I can think about is tacos." SO funny!

@@betterme38 What coverage do you have through UMR? I have UMR UHC Choice Plus. Monday is my 6th appointment for my 6-month Medically Supervised Diet. I think I may have gained weight from my first appt - which makes me nervous. Though! They did tell me there was no consequence for weight gain. So fingers crossed! I'm interested to see how long it takes for me to hear something back after I turn in the paperwork on Monday.

Corpus Christi / South Texas Sleevers?
Hey guys! Are you able to find Support Groups up there? I found it crazy that we didn't have any down here. April 7th is SO soon! Excited for you!

Corpus Christi / South Texas Sleevers?
Hi! I'm pre-op VSG out of Corpus Christi, Texas. After no luck finding a support group, I'm in the process of starting a Monthly WLS Support Group. Seeing if there's anyone else that was having the same issue. Let me know if you're interested in joining us!

Starting my Journey- contacted insurance step 1
Hi! I'm 27, from Texas and in the pre-op VSG process. I am on my 6th month of my 6 month PCP supervised diet. At first I was a little bummed because of the wait, but it went SO much faster than I thought it would. I have UHC and I had to also have a phone "meeting" with the Optum Bariatric Services Center through UHC. They assigned me a nurse to help me along the way with any questions I may have. For my Supervised Diet, I didn't have to lose weight and won't be penalized for gaining. That was one of my first questions. I meet with my PCP and discuss weight loss. My psych eval was quick and painless. We just discussed the choice of having surgery and my eating habits. Don't stress it! They won't ask anything deep and dark. Good luck!! I'm so excited for you!

Did you decide on a surgeon? I'm pre-op with Dr. Brian McDaniels out of Victoria.

United Healthcare - Just Beginning
@@ChefSaraKay Were all of your Supervised Diet appts 30-day apart? I'm curious if mine will do. We pulled some past appointments that were sporadic but in the consecutive months.

Anxious now that 6 mos doc visit is up
Question! Your 6-month appts, were they all 30 days apart? I have a few months we went back into that were longer and on random days. Thanks!

United Healthcare (UHC) Supervised Diet Questions!
Hello! I just completed my 3rd visit to my PCP for my 6-Month Supervised Diet for United Healthcare. My Optum/Bariactric Resource Center nurse did say they had to be consecutive, but I could pull from months previous of my "start" with the 6 months. My PCP has a previous visit (before starting my 6 in December) that he is willingly to pull - but it's a bit more than 30 days before my December visit. It is the calendar "month" before. Has anyone had something similar denied? Also, I am using a Supervised Diet form from my Surgeon's office and not the one UHC provided, since I had already started my appts. Has anyone had issues using a form other than the one they provided? Located in Corpus Christi, TX. Hopefully VSG in June/July. Thanks!

Are there any Texas Meet-ups?
I've noticed on Insta that there's meet-ups in other States and it looks fun. I'm in Corpus Christi, pre-op (May 2016) and wondering if anyone knows of any WLS meet-ups in Texas? Thanks!

My insurance requires a 6-month physician supervised diet?!? :(
I had my first phone call with OptumHealth today. And I just had my 2nd month of supervised diet visit this morning, too. You're timeline seems similar to mine! We should keep it touch!
