  1. I ended up canceling my appointment and moving it to Tuesday because we were having so much family fun Friday that I didn't want to stop and ruin it with my doctors appointment. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Be careful with premiere ready to drink after surgery. It's more of a concentrate versus an isolate. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I haven't had surgery yet but I didn't want to be shocked come my 2 week diet so I started at month 4 of my 6 months and I have been doing shakes 2-3 times a day and then a low carb dinner. I've been able to lose a good chunk of weight and I also will be quite used to eating this way when I "have" to. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Hi everyone. Thread is bigger than I thought. I have a PCP appointment Friday and that will start my last month of this mess. Woohoo. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. sugar free gums and candies have sugar alcohols in them and cause gas and also they tend to do the opposite of taking away the craving. They cause you to want to eat. I can see it not being a problem 1+ years out when you are well established though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I looked years ago because I was worried about rides too and I found a lot of info on being overweight. Disney is very fat friendly so don't worry! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Tying my shoes Fitting in chairs/booths better Running around with my kid Coming off my CPAP Mostly simple things. I didn't like shopping when I was skinny so I don't think I will enjoy it that much when I am smaller. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. You can eventually drink but remember alcohol will have 4-5 times the potency it did before so you will get drunk very quickly if not careful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. If you have external stitches they are super easy to take out yourself. You just need a tiny pair of scissors and you clip the stitch and pull it out. Very easy. Check on YouTube and you'll see it done. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I tried the Adkins Lift Lemon and wasn't too thrilled with it but I added some Crystal Light flavor squirt thing to it (can't remember the name, like Mios) and the taste was way better. nectar is also the way to go! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Getting sleeves in August hopefully. Anyone else around? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I had to do the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory and it was either 500 or 800 questions. So I'd take 175 anyway. The interview was just basically what diets have you tried, what are you expectations, what's your biggest fear about the surgery, etc. It wasn't anything to be worried about really. 13. The pending surgery has me thinking about the same thing and I realize how much of my family's life revolves around food. It's pretty sickening to think about it. I told my wife we would have to come up with other things to do besides eat. But as someone already said you will be able to do more than you could before. Eating is easy. Soon a bunch of things will be easy! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. My last appointment for my supervised weight loss will be at the end of July so I'm looking at a sleeve date in August and would love to find some others that will be sleeved around that time as well. I think it would be awesome to keep track of each other via Facebook and have a mini support group! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. You may want to see if you can change your surgery date. Getting used to a CPAP is something that takes time and you may have to wear it X number of hours for X number of days to comply with your insurance covering it. It might he rough trying to still get used to it in the hospital after surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Chewable Vitamins don't have thiamine. Thiamine is extremely important. There are many vitamins out there that will do what you need. Every doctor will say you need something different. I wouldn't worry about exact amounts. Just need a multivitamin and take double the dose. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Right? My mom was a nurse and would totally wipe my butt as would my wife but honestly, no, just no. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I actually have one of those for when my back just won't let me reach but you have to get a good squat to use it and I can't imagine squatting like that either lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Baritastic is for those who are going to or have had bariatric surgery. No weird changing of settings because you need lower nutrition requirements. I like it so far. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I tried searching for this and found nothing so I suppose I will ask. I am able to, with some contorting, to clean myself after a BM. I can't imagine being able to do that after surgery for a while. I am short and big, 5'2" and 314 currently, and carry most my weight in my stomach area. Please tell me I won't need someone to assist me doing *that* after surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Do it. I'm currently pushing myself and I am still about 3 months from surgery. I'm afraid the drastic change will be hard for me so I'm trying to change it now so it's not such a shock after surgery. I've lost 15 lbs but I had gained 10 since my first appt with my doctor so I'm only down about 5 but still going! High Protein, low carb! It's also a great time to find out what Protein shakes and stuff you really like. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. My biggest concern would be caffeine leaching calcium from your bones. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. That is kind of weird considering you can anything shoved in or taken our via plastic surgery for far less struggle. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. ^ that is how I've heard mine will be from someone else who has already done there's. It shouldn't be a big deal at all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I have Cigna and was told its 3 months but that is 4 visits so you can get a visit after the last month. I'm sure it varies by insurances though but that is weird. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
