How Many Calories One Year Out?
I'll be eight months next week. I did go over 1000 one day, but it was an extremely long, active day.

How Many Calories One Year Out?
I usually end up between 800 and 900, but lately there have been days when I am more active that I will eat more. My nut isn't really helpful either, so I'm trying to find the right balance for me. I decided to start experimenting eating more on the days I work out and am very active.

Pizza
I found a recipe today that used ground chicken as a crust. Though it was different, but I sometimes put chicken on pizza, so why not! I think I'm going to try it next week.

Daily Meal Ideas for WLS 8+ Months Out
She's the nut at my surgeons office. And when she said between 600-800 calories she said that was the average. I emailed the other nut to get her take on it because some days I could eat way more but feel bad going over 800 calories. All these responses make me feel better though, so I do appreciate them!

Daily Meal Ideas for WLS 8+ Months Out
Thanks for the replies! I don't feel as guilty going over 800 calories after I workout. I probably should just focus on the protein.

Daily Meal Ideas for WLS 8+ Months Out
I emailed my nut today asking about working out and such. Like today my tracker says I have burned 300 calories and I have eaten 680 so far today. So, hopefully she gets back in touch with me soon. I feel like it's not enough either, but I have been trying to go by what the nut says.

Daily Meal Ideas for WLS 8+ Months Out
I don't count calories. At least not in any formal way. I have done some "spot checks" here and there where I would log my food for a day or two just to see where I was at. But I have found that eating 5-6 times a day, putting protein first, and getting my 100 grams in pretty much keeps my calories right where they need to be. I'm in maintenance now and training for a half marathon, so I've had to actually start working on getting in MORE calories, which I am still stumbling my way though. I'm still in the losing phase (5 lbs or so from goal) and my nut said to eat between 600-800 calories a day, but I have a hard time with those calories and to get the needed protein. I like to get others opinions on what works.

Do you all count calories or mainly focus on protein? I guess I worry that I'm going to eat too many calories.

Pizza
I use egg roll wrappers or wonton wrappers as a crust when I crave pizza. Gives you the fix you are looking for.

Yogurt Drink
The one I had didn't have that many grams of sugar. Only had 9 I think, I looked at their regular yogurt and the sugar was really high, but the drinks aren't.

Yogurt Drink
Found a yogurt drink in Walmart called Powerful Yogurt. Tastes like I remember a Yoohoo. 160 calories and 20g protein. Thought I'd share if you hadn't seen it before. (Tried to do a pic and it wouldn't work)

Weight Lifting

Weight Lifting
So I want to start doing weights at the gym, but have no idea where to start. Anyone know of some good beginner resources? I've been researching online but find 10 different answers. Any help would be great.

Sweet Tooth
Thanks for pointing those out! The use isomalto-oligosaccharide instead of soluble corn fiber, so I might be able to handle them and the nutritional info looks good. Only slight red flag is the amount of sugar alcohol, but I think I'd be willing to give them a try. Do you know any brick-and-mortar stores that sell them? I just googled them - looks like Vitamin Shoppe carries them. I may swing by today and pick one up! Yes, I got ones at Vitamin Shoppe to try. Mine only had 2 flavors. Online they come in a lot more though.

Have you guys tried Oh Yeah one protein bars? They are so much softer than quest. I like them for a different taste.

The coffee flavoring syrups. Torani is what I have.

Newbie
Get the sugar free syrups to make your shakes taste better. Also, protein water! I wish I had known those two things during the liquid stage after the surgery.

Healthy Crackers?
I think the same thing about Quest chips. I like them for the first few seconds then they get gross tasting.

What’s Your Best Food Swap?
I do miss bread, pasta, pizza. Occasionally, I use egg roll wrappers as a pizza crust. I don't do it much because of the carbs, but when I'm craving it it hits the spot.

Dealing with excess skin
Just turned 23 and that is a huge concern for me as well. I'm single and I fear dating after wls. Our generation is completely into physical image. I hope I "snap back" well after surgery. I've already made up my mind to get a breast lift after reaching my goal weight. ???? Breast lift is def one thing I want to do.
