Revision on 12/1! Very nervous!
Thanks! I'm lying in pre-op reading the autobiography of Senstor Edward Kennedy and just waiting my turn. All is calm, all is bright!

December 8th Sleevers......
One more day everybody! I was on a business trip in NYC this weekend and am on the plane headed to KC now! Really feeling excited and joyful. One journey is ending and a new one is beginning. So thankful!

Revision on 12/1! Very nervous!
I'm doing great--so sweet of you to check in! I'm a public speaker and had a big event in NYC this weekend so that kept me busy. I was feeling pretty apprehensive on Friday and have scheduled an appointment to see my doctor tomorrow once I've flown into Kansas City. Since I had lap and erosion and ended up in Intensive Care I think I'm a bit more fearful than I would normally be. I had a severe gastric bleed with the erosion and I never want to go through anything like that again. I'm sure after talking to Dr Hoehn tomorrow I will feel peaceful and ready to rock and roll on Tuesday.

Enlarged pouch & small slip
As I said, I don't mean to be an alarmist but my experience was profound. Better safe than sorry is now my motto

Any December Sleever's?
You won't be able to take capsules for several weeks following surgery. You chew the gummies until they are TINY pieces

Any December Sleever's?
You absolutely are a rock star and you can do this! There will be many more family dinners because you are saving your life.

Enlarged pouch & small slip
I truly don't mean to be an alarmist but I would find another opinion. I came very close to dying--I was on a business trip 2,000 miles from home and by the time I got home I was in serious condition. Be firm and demand a referral.

Any December Sleever's?
I'm putting MIO flavor drops in them. I got Caramel Macchiato Folgers drops and they're amazing and delicious.

Try the Premiere Protein ones--they're pretty good

Enlarged pouch & small slip
I'm no doctor but I'd be getting another referral no matter what it took. My band. Started with a slip and then eroded COMPLETELY into my stomach. I had a gastric bleed and ended up in Intensive Care. I'm not you but I'd be at least talking to a BARIATRIC doctor.

Any December Sleever's?
I'm using Premiere Protein shakes from Costco. Also available at Walgreens. 30 rams of Protein, low fat. Definitely need both low sugar/high protein.

Any December Sleever's?
I am next Tuesday and I'm seeing a lot of people who are scared prior to sutgery and then amazed the next day after. That's what makes this forum so wonderful. I am doing my protein shake diet and it's been a piece of cake. No hunger at all. We will all be fine! Feel the fear and do it anyway.

Any December Sleever's?
Amen to Violet's post! If anyone thinks this is the easy way out, it's ignorance talking. It's like saying, "heart surgery is the easy way out, exercise and diet will fix that problem!" Sometimes "good friends" aren't as wise as they think they are. It's like broke people giving financial advice.

I'm from Wichita. My surgery is Dec 8 so it's almost time! I'm having a band to sleeve revision and they removed my band two months ago. Ended up in Intensive Care with a gastric bleed from the band erosion so I'm a little skittish, but still excited and committed!

Revision on 12/1! Very nervous!
Morning, Amy! So glad you're doing well. My nutritionist said to sip on protein shakes to be sure I get mine in. I'm not there yet--surgery is next week, but that's the game plan.

I'm a public speaker. I represent some of the gurus on HGTV and speak on real estate investment. Love my job but it is very demanding--I fly out on Thursdays, speak Friday thru Sunday, and fly home on Mondays. I took four weeks off because I had a gastric bleed after my lap and eroded and it scared me to death! I was out on the road at the time.

At 2 weeks post-op, my non VSG world shattered. I am trying to pick up the pieces...
As a mother of three grown sons, my heart aches for you. This is going to be a real journey and you are right--if you aren't strong you're not going to be able to help when you're needed. My prayers are with you and your family.

Amen to that one, Coccomo! I'm taking a month off given my crazy job. Loren, what do you do for a living? How far will you be traveling?
-

Hey Loren--I travel for work every week so both of us are going to be road warriors on a mission. One of my challenges is going to be sticking to the regime on the road, on airplanes, and in strange cities.

Just starting my pre-op diet today, so it's a little soon to comment. However, I've been scouring the blogs the last few days and I'm not seeing ANY complaints about after surgery issues with the diet. My understanding is they are removing the portion of the stomach that tells us "I'm hungry!", so I think between the protein and the vitamins, we will be good.
