  1. Homemade soups, purred, ricotta cheese/marinara sauce, Oikos GREEK yogurt, cottage cheese, all types of purred beans, lentil soup. I've just been cooking things I love, omitting things off limits (lasagna w no noodles or meat), and creating great variety and flavors
  2. I was sleeved on the 7th. What do your meals consist of? Today was the first day I had soft/puréed foods. Couldn't eat but maybe 10 tiny tiny bites.
  3. I was also on the 8th. I drink as I want to. I don't drink either 30 minutes before or afore meals. I think the whole idea of sipping is so you are sure you get enough, so drink away. Don't gulp big chugs or you will overfill your pouch without knowing you are doing it.
  4. I'm ten days post op and I've had a resale struggle with energy but it's coming back now--a little better every day.
  5. Fat2phat--ME TOO! I love Premiere Protein and now it makes me totally gag! Amy--I'm with you as well regarding not being prepared for the discomfort. For me. It was not being prepared for the total fatigue/lack of energy. I will say it gets better each day, but I'm now ten days out and am ready to be up for more than two hours
  6. You are going to be fine! Sending you the luck of the Irish!
  7. Three separate surgeries; remove the band, had a gastric bleed. Last week, sleeve revision
  8. 95% of all gastric bleeds are from nicotine. No options here but to totally get off. Bleeds are life theathening.
  9. I'm one week postoperative on having my sleeve. I did a three step process (band erosion, removal, gastric bleed, and finally sleeve.) like you I was determined to see this through. I'm recovering day by day and taking baby steps. It's been quite a ride for me the last two months
  10. Hi Everyone, there are about twenty of us who were sleeved on December 8th and we are all doing fine. Only one in our group had to stay a little longer due to not clotting and needing a transfusion. I am a little surprised at how "bad" I feel but I'm 63 so I guess I'm healing a bit slower. I also have had three surgeries in two months (lap and erosion) so my body is worn out. BUT I am doing fine and progressing everyday. Tolerating my puréed and creamy foods just fine. So, I said all that to say you're all going to be fine and just sink into the process. It's not a walk in the park, but each day brings a step towards "better."
  11. I am also on two pills a day to combat reflux and counter gastric bleeds. Sending you prayers. Are you better now?
  12. What did you try to eat? I tried some soup that I strained and had four spoonfuls and was done it was heavily diluted with water too.I had puréed chicken...I had puréed turkey, chicken, and cod(which was actually better than it sounds) in the hospital, along with puréed carrots, peaches, applesauce, and Greek yogurt. I think I just tried eating too fast as well as to big a portion and it was too much. I have my tiny spoons from the program and am using those to help gauge my intake(doc wants # of those spoonfuls documented). I am more concerned at this point in getting my fluid intake but just received my protein soup broth from diet direct! Yeah, now I can do double duty!????????oh my......your ????were bigger than your tummy LOL.....I'm on liquids for 2 weeks ????The surgeons instructions for after VSG are liquids only first day and 2nd day for breakfast, and lunch and dinner second day puréed through the next two weeks...after two weeks soft foods and then transition. I did okay in the hospital, I guess I just really want to do whatever I can to meet goals and NOT end up back in. I think we are all feeling that way--I don't want to go through this again!
  13. Well, I had a huge day--walked downstairs twice. And here we are at 8:15 and I'm going to bed????
  14. Yes? Totally disgusting liquids. When is your surgery
  15. Well, we've been wondering where you were! Okay--you're home and better --so glad--take it easy and heal. Milk products seem to be giving me more gas than water based soups
  16. In s couple of days when we are feeling better, do you guys want to form our own little group either w a private invite only Facebook page or just group texting.
  17. I e been diluted soups. Tried a protein shake twice today--can't do them for some reason --
  18. Well, that sounds like a common theme today! That's three of us !
  19. I'm only taking about 3 cc of the pain meds because it's totally disgusting and makes me gag. So I only take it when I can't stand the pain. My drain wound is on my left and it's finally slowed down on the seepage. You guys giving yourselves the blood thinner shots?
  20. You went to the grocery store??? Wow--you're a rock star. I'm flat on my back still but I think by tomorrow I will be up more. Pain is much less today than yesterday. I ate some Campbell's Tomato soup for lunch. It was warm and soothing.
  21. Me too! This journey has been complex for me between the band erosion, gastric bleed, and now the revision. I feel for you but you are so totally safe in the hospital --lay back and heal.
  22. Yikes! Drain? Is that normal? For my doctor it is. He leaves a drain in for a week. It is a surgeon's preference. I am really having to learn this sleeve I drank too much too soon and feeling like crap.
  23. Had a very tough couple of days following surgery. He did a lot of scar revision in surgery. I am better today a little bit. Doc says I'm fine--I'd hate to see "not fine." ☺️
  24. All is well--came home the day after surgery. Wednesday and Thursday were very tough but today is Breyer. My doc expected that since there was a lot of rr idiom work to do due to the land erosion.
  25. How are you feeling?? How did everything go?
