  1. Thanks, LadyWarren!!! I have been trying to find an Insurance that covers the surgery. I don't know if it's because of the state I live in or what.
  2. If your Insurance Company doesn't cover WLS and you need surgery for a hiatal hernia, can you get the hiatal hernia repaired and gastric sleeve as well? That way, you get qualified for surgery?
  3. I'm gonna have my husband check with his Employer's Insurance. I have private Insurance.
  4. My Insurance Company does not cover Bariatric Surgery. My PCP sent them a letter of Medical Necessity, as well as my Suergeon's Bariatric Coordinator reaching out to them. I need some tips on getting them to listen, or any other Insurance Companies, that cover Bariatric Surgery.
  5. Was WLS covered in your policy?
  6. Awesome encouragement!!!!! God is good!!
  7. I have an Individual plan, through the Health Market. I know that you are happy that you were approved. Blessings to you!
  8. Congrats!! Where are you located? I hating to fight tooth and nail, to get approved. I meant to say that I've been fighting tooth and nail, trying to get Humana to work with me.
  9. I have the Humana Silver PPO Plan/MS. I was told that my Insurance wouldn't cover my VSG. I spoke with my PCP about this and he let them know that's it's a medical necessity, for me to have WLS. I'm 44 years old, my height is 4'11, my weight is 279 and my BMI is 56.4. They told me that in September 15, 2015 a doctor called in saying that I needed surgery that I have never heard of. I'm in a ball of confusion. The Bariatric Coordinator, with actual surgeon who I'd like to do my surgery called them on yesterday. Humana had them to verify codes, the hospital, etc and said they'd let them know of a decision early on next week. Jesus, took the wheel a long time ago, but I'm not giving up!
  10. I've only told my husband and few others. My mother is worried about me perusing weight loss surgery. I'm tired of being in pain, sleep apnea and high cholesterol, to name a few.
  11. Praying for you, in Jesus name!
  12. I forgot to mention that I'm 4'11, 279. Praying that I finally get to better health. Any encouragement is welcomed.
  13. I was denied surgery, two months ago. I called my Insurance Company back and spoke with someone from the Bariatric Team and was told that I never should have been denied. My Family Doctor wrote a letter on my behalf, stating that Bariatric Surgery is deemed necessary for me. I will let you all know what happens next. I need to lose about 140!!!
