    Not tolerating whey protein...

Can you boost your tasteless shakes with fruit or PB2 powder? My Target has chocolate PB2 now.

    Not tolerating whey protein...

I think JP is a great choice after bypass since it helps with macronutrients too. I also take the capsules to get in all my fruits and veggies intake. I do blood next month so will see how or if it has helped in that way too. The protein powder has 15 g of protein so I boost it to over 20 with almond milk, chia seeds and or PB2 powder.
  3. Hi! I'm 7 weeks post op and just found this bariatric pal website. Would love to talk to and get to know someone who is further along this journey and can provide honest answers to my questions.

    Favorite hot beverage

I was so cold last night that I wanted something hot to drink to warm me up. What is your favorite decaffeinated hot beverage? I haven't had caffeine yet even though I know we can. coffee, hot chocolate or tea suggestions?

    Holiday Get Togethers

I made corn souffle at Thanksgiving that everyone loves and was able to eat a few bites too. Super easy and travels well. http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/corn-souffle-107340.aspx

    Not tolerating whey protein...

I feel like Sun Warrior is pretty chalky but mixed with other stuff I don't notice as much. juice Plus has 2 products. Capsules which contain all your vegetable and fruit servings in them and Protein powder. I use both. My kids now do 5 mornings a week of smoothies with the JP Protein Powder. I've seen a huge difference in their health with this minor change. I mix Sunwarrior vanilla and JP chocolate plus PB2 powder and is actually tolerable to drink. I have a JP rep if you would like to know more.
  7. Hi! I'm new here and 7 weeks post op. My husband and close friends are worried about how negative I've become after surgery. I have been miserable after surgery trying to juggle new tummy (had a stricture and had that fixed 2 days ago), new job, hubby's new job, kids, house....been overwhelmed and very emotional. Are mood swings part of after surgery life? Is wanting to cry a lot? Is this normal? My doctor says it is just my hormones changing and it will get better. Anyone else moody like this and took medication? Or began to see a counselor? I'm not depressed just very very emotional. Thanks in advance!

    Thanksgiving

I will be on soft foods for Thanksgiving and do not want to even attempt traditional dessert. What is a "dessert" dish I could bring to eat?

    Thanksgiving

Thanks everyone! I understand there might be different threads about Thanksgiving but the ones I found were 1) for all types of surgery and I'm gastric bypass 2) on regular food and I'm on soft foods and 3) I was looking for dessert to bring to our hosts. 4) And I'm new here. On that last note, let's be sensitive to newbies. I just left a FB group because the vets were being mean and insensitive to newbie questions. We newbies are overwhelmed and emotional. Thanks again for the responses!
  10. I'm 7 weeks post op and the hubby is taking me out on a date tonight including dinner. I'm on soft foods phase and haven't been out to eat since surgery. I think we are going to a family style restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. What should I look for to order?
  11. Thank you for your replies. We had a good date night without me getting or feeling sick. We did chose a family restaurant that serves breakfast all day so I could order eggs. Then enjoyed going out to a movie where I smiled at the popcorn and proceeded to my seat.
  12. Thank you for helping me feel normal. I've been driving my poor husband and friends crazy.
  13. I'm losing a pound every other day so I'm track with what my doctor expects. This week I had to go back to the hospital to get a stricture taken care of so hopefully I can eat now. The thing I didn't expect is how emotional I am. I don't feel like myself with these hormones raging but my doctor says it is normal and my hormones will level out soon. What does almost 12 weeks feel like?

    Not tolerating whey protein...

Hi! I'm new here and had the same problem happen to me. I went the vegan route for Protein powder and mix SunWarrior with juice Plus with almond milk (fruit and PB2 too) and feel so much better. I can tolerate greek yogurt, cottage cheese and regular cheese, but Premier drinks and whey powder just make me feel horrible.

Hi Karen! I'm Jen in the Chicagoland area. I had surgery on 9/14 so not that much sooner than you. Would love to connect with others who are in the same time frame of this crazy journey.
