It's Official...
My "last supper" was at Chuy's Mexican Restaurant. I couldn't bring myself to have my favorite chimichanga; as I was already doing my pre-op diet to get a good start on it before the official start of my Pre-op. So I had a taco salad instead [emoji5][emoji39]

Accomplished a HUGE goal. 5k race
Yep you can walk them! Of course serious 5Kers do run, but not this girl. I do walk fast and keep to the right of traffic. Not sure where you live, but here in Houston there is a group called Houston Wellness Project where it offers free registration to participate with the 5 K. Maybe something equivalent where you live. Try Googling free 5K's. Just a thought!!

Stupid things people say when they find out you've had surgery....
People can be so uneducated and that just makes my head hurt!

Accomplished a HUGE goal. 5k race
I do 5K's once a month as that was one of my resolutions for 2016; however I don't run! But awesome that you do that though.

People envious of WL
I have thought about this as well. There are people who exercise to lose the weight and they are successful at it. Sometimes I think to myself, did I do the "easy-way-out". But really, I shouldn't think that way and I will not let people assume that is what I am doing. Obesity happens not just by eating horribly, but one has to consider the genetic factors as well. I am not using my genetics as a crutch; however prior to my sleeve, I had horrible cholesterol, HTN, and sugars were definitely not good. Since then, I have dramatically improved. I look at my sleeve as a preventive measure from ending up like my mom and grandparents. I don't want my son to see me end up like my mom whose diabetes is has taken its toll on her. If this will prolong my life to a healthy state, then I am all for it!

Before and After Pics
11/14/2015 is my one month post-op! As of right now, I do not know how much I weigh, as I do not like scales. However, my last weigh in is when I did Vitality Health check for my employer and at that time I weighed 222#. My beginning weight was 255. It was roughly 23# that I had lost prior to my surgery. So, today I had my son take my one month sleeversary pic. ???? I am glad to see everyone else's success!! ????

Pureed Recipes needed please!
I was trying to think of recipes myself during my puréed and soft food phase and I decided to try ground turkey with cream of celery soup. Not bad, maybe some seasoning may be needed. Another combo was ground turkey and avocado. Nice to see other recipes on here ????

Gummies
I did take them prior to the surgery on 10/14/2015, but I was told not to take them anymore during post-ops. I really liked them and I didn't have side effects like I did with the other vitamins that I have to take now.

So this is weird...
I am so glad that I searched for this topic, because it is just within a few days that I actually started to get hungry. Today is my 2 week "sleeviversary". This morning I got blood drawn and I had fasted and I was hungry going there. Couldn't wait to get to work to have some food. I guess I am on target as far as the healing process goes; but I realize of course all is different.

Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin Nausea
I had spoken to BA about my reaction and they had said that the samples I was given perhaps were a bad batch and that I shouldn't had any vomitting even if I had chewed them or dissolved them, so I have decided not to even touch the samples at all. On the flip-side, I do have an order that is to be delivered and I am definitely taking it with food and see how that goes. Thank you all for your advice! ????????

October sleevers
My surgery was on 10/14! Tomorrow I start my puréed foods phase. I am getting excited as I think my tummy is tired of liquids. I am not sure if anyone else was like this, but today I have been hungry. Anyone else have this issue?

Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin Nausea
Good morning!! I was told to chew my samples and I think that is my problem right there, so I am going to have them dissolve in my mouth and try that. The samples I had from BA did not have directions on them; but when I had my nature made vitamelts, the directions specifically stated to dissolve first. Thank you so much for your insight!!

Ab Binder
Awwww I highly doubt that you look like Shar Pei, but I completely understand. It definitely would NOT hurt if you had one. Since you have extra skin, the extra support that a binder provides can be helpful. Maybe get with your doctor and see if they can provide one for you or just go to a DME store and see if you can buy one outright.

Ab Binder
Yes I have, and I actually have it on. I wear a tank top first and then put on my binder. The the top I want to wear over the binder. When I am home, I just wear it over my shirt. I still want to look "smooth" and I like the support. To me it helps as I was told not to wear Spanx or something like that yet because of my incisions. I am not sure if it will help down the road, but I feel like it does help me at this point. (I had my VGS surgery on 10/14/2015) Not sure if this helps you, but good luck! ????

Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin Nausea
Hello All! This is my first post???? Anyway, I had VGS on 10/14/2015 and I am currently on the phase 2 of liquids by having cream of Soups. When I was my one-week follow up visit this past Wednesday, I was given sample Vitamins from Bariatric Advantage. So, the next day I decided to try the sample and as soon as I had swelled them, I became nauseous. I breathed slowly to pass the feeling and drank some unsweetened tea to help and it eventually subsided. I just thought it was something new for my body and it was not used to it yet. The next day on Friday, I took another sample Vitamin from BA and after swallowing, I became nauseated again, but worse and this time I had to vomit. I placed a call to BA to cancel my order and to possibly get some advice. Naturally I call when they are closed, but I was able to leave a message. I went to Kroger and found Nature's Made Vitamelts and I followed the directions to which I was nervous thinking that I was goi g to get nauseous and knock-on-wood, I haven't. I decided to take my vitamins with my cream of celery Soup and thank goodness I am OK. I am just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience with these type of vitamins. Before I had my surgery, I was taking Nature Made Multis Gummies and had no problems whatsoever. As soon as my 7 weeks come to an end, I am going back to Gummies. Thank you for reading!
