  11. There are multivitamin patches, thank God! I'd not be able to do it without that
  12. I'm 6 weeks out & wish it was tomorrow. Make weekly goals so you stay focused. I can't wait but, looking forward to cutting more calories each week & losing another 15+ lbs before surgery.
  13. I have BCBS of Illinois & they required 1 psych eval & 3 nutrition counseling visits. They have been great when I've called. They said it could take up to 30 days for approval but, I hear their time isn't that long normally. Very pleased with them...
  14. I have a magic bullet. I like it just fine. I keep it in the break room at work. Hubby has a nutribullet but, he works out & does all his crazy protein shakes & stuff. I recommend either. Both great, just your preference
  15. I have & told her she could try to appeal. When we've talked about getting together socially, going out to eat is the first option. I don't want that. If I can't make it, weigh it or scan it, I don't want it. I wouldn't intentionally end our friendship but, as I'm learning more & seeing things for what they are, I don't want that negativity right now. I'm trying to stay positive & do what I need to do for me. I want to be there & be supportive of her as well but, she first has to help herself & by going out to eat & out drinking, and proving that is a priority, that drives an even bigger wedge between us.
  16. My next & 2nd nut appt is next Friday. They are sending all info that day, per insurance company request so it can be reviewed and pending after the 3rd & final nut visit on dec 11. Pending surgery date is December 18.
  17. I agree sharon1964! My surgery will be on a Friday. Obviously taking that day & the following Monday. Going back tues & wed - then off thurs & fri for Christmas - back in full swing the week after. No way I could stay home. I work in a Drs office/hospital so, feel I will be safe even if something did go horribly wrong
  18. I told her the weight that she lost preop would just be a stepping stone & we would work on it together still. That's when she told me she actually gained weight thru the process because she ate whatever she wanted because of having the surgery. I've lost 15lbs in 2 months because I'm trying to work my butt off because I figure if the surgery takes 100lbs, I'd rather be 160 than 190. My tentative date is dec 18 & I'm half way there
  19. My friend was just rejected & she is SO depressed right now. She is the one I learned about my dr & the center I am going to from. I never considered gastric bypass but, did look into the band years ago. So, wanting something like this has been in my mind for about 4 years. She totally sold the facility & the surgeon & she was right! I'm so glad she told me about them! But, I feel like I wouldn't have started this journey without her giving me that info like she did & we were gonna be goin thru it at similar times & could be each other's support system. She was rejected by her insurance last week. Now, I feel guilty & like I can't tell her what's goin on with my plan & when I start losing weight, I'm afraid she will have resentment toward me... I don't want to share anything with her now in fear of upsetting her...
  20. Mine has me penciled in pending insurance approval. Dec. 18. He only does surgeries there on Fridays & the next two Friday's of the year are holidays. So, they wanted to get me on the schedule. Also, my insurance, BCBS, also suggested that we send all records after my 2nd nutrition visit, next Friday, since they can take up to 30 days to approve. My last nut visit is December 11 & I am needing surgery the following week! That way they can review everything pending that last appt & will know sooner if it's a go or a no go.
  21. My last visit before submitting is Nov 13. I can not wait to wait on the final countdown . Good luck
  22. December 18 pending insurance approval
  23. What about ice? I eat ice all day long. That is small portions & constant hydration.
  24. Jym protein is really good for you & yummy! So is the Arnold brand.
