    Surgery day!

Tennis anyone. I have played for the last 4 years. I had sleeve surgery in September 2015. When I play now, I don't get tired, my feet don't hurt and I am much faster moving around the court. The 86 pounds that I have lost so far are making a huge difference in my game. Funny when I play with some of the bigger guys, I notice them getting out of breath at the change overs. That was me before, now I'm the one with all the energy. Can't wait to play USTA tournaments. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I had the same problem. I lowered the pressure setting in my cpap, I have an auto-adjusting model, and that solved the problem. My guess was too much pressure was causing my mouth to open when I was sleeping and that caused the dry mouth. I tried the humidifier and that didn't help, as soon as I changed the settings on my machine, problem solved. I suggest you talk to a medical professional before changing any settings. I had a binge :(

Please do not doubt the choice to have this surgery because of a moment of weakness. We all had many moments of weakness over the years before surgery. Here is what will change after surgery, you will begin to loose weight and feel better, your health will improve, you will want to keep doing better. Here is what happened to me when I gave in and ate something that wasn't healthy for me , like a burger at McDonalds- it made me feel really horrible- not mentally because I failed, but physically because it made me feel unwell. This is a great deterrent to not do it again. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    NSV shout outs

NSV today. I dropped my dry cleaner off and the nice lady working there asked me. "Do you mind if I ask you something?" Me "no, go ahead " Her "how much weight have you lost? You look great." I thanked her and continued with my day. This is a drive thru dry cleaner , all she can see is my face ????
  6. 244. I did it with a pound to spare. Thanks Sarah
  7. 249.6. Yes a milestone, under 250! Thanks Sarah
  8. Try to cut out as many carbs as you can possibly stand. Eat more protein if you are hungry. Drinks lots of water and walk everyday. Try to do a little more each week and you will get there.
  9. Hi Sarah, 252.2 today. Thank you for doing all this work. You are awesome for dealing with all this.

I DID IT! I Reached My Goal!

Great job in such a short time. You look great, I bet you feel even better.
  13. Sorry but my opinion is that OP's story has some holes in it. Wonder how real this is?
  14. Wow! What Dr. Would do this to an unwilling patient and provide no education? This is totally wrong. Are you over 21? You would have to have signed papers to have this surgery done. We need to know the name of the Dr. and the hospital that did this , so we can warn others.

    New iced drink recipes

I have developed a taste for Lemonade post surgery. Never liked it before, but now I love a glass of cold diet Lemonade. I like the Chick-Fil-A version and I make it at home. It's takes time but it's so delicious. I use 2-3 lemons and spends, lots of ice and put it in the magic bullet. Makes a nice slushy drink with zero calories.

    Getting enough calories

I've heard that the body will stop losing when you get to a certain weight where your body feels comfortable. What you ate yesterday has almost nothing to do with your loss of a pound today. We know that the calorie deficit has to be at least 3500 to loose 1 pound. So unless you ran a marathon yesterday, and burned 5500 calories, there is no way what the scale shows is reflective of your food consumption yesterday. I feel for you, I wish I had a good answer, but I don't. Keep trying to up your intake and be a couch potato ???? That's how most of us gained weight.
  17. Starting weight 259. Goal 244
  18. I'm in as well. I'll post weight on Monday morning. Can you accommodate a mens division?

    Stall one week out?

Yes this happened to me one week post op. Lasted for 11 days. Then..... It started to drop off. Remain calm, it'll happen. 3 months out now and down 65 pounds. It's a marathon , not a sprint.

    Steri-strips and showers?

They will be fine. Just leave them on until they start to fall off. It'll keep you together while you heal.

Anyone us Dr Schmitt at AWLS?

He is the absolute best surgeon. He did mine this year and after 3 months I've lost 65 pounds. First class all the way. Very good office and a complete program at St. Vincents. Good choice of a surgeon.

    A Very Special Success Story

Thank you for telling your story. It sounds like I could have written it, except I'm just 6 weeks post op and have not seen all the benefits yet. This makes my journey worth it, to know one day , I can be a success like you are. Thank you
