  1. Exactly ReneBean...... pre-band time it would have been an all out feast..... there will be days....... but overall.... look at your pattern of improvement..... more good than bad..... :-) how boring to live a perfect life :-( sin can be good in moderation You'll be just fine and keep up your success!!
  2. Ohhhhhhhh I remember those all so clearly. I had serious doubts...... most of them because I was head strong and successful on the pre-op weight loss so I started to think I didn't need the band and that I could just continue being strong by myself........ then I just kept telling myself that I was fooling myself.....I have been trying to get this weight off for 30 years....I was done doing the up and down, I was tired of lying to myself, I was ready to make a very positive commitment to myself..... I thought either I can sit here and yo yo diet for another 10 years and run into more serious health issues or just do it....... be proud of a courageous opportunity and jump into it....... it really helped me to stay in tune with these forums.... it helped me keep my excitement up to look at before and after pictures, to read of weight loss success, to hear all the NSV's........... it was and still is very exciting to know that I can do it too..... now that i'm post-op I'm still a little scared sometimes that I just made such a drastic step..... but it's quickly smashed when I jump on the scale and see it going down..... safely, healthy, and steadily...... I told myself I will commit a year 100% to this...... I think in a years time we will all be in celebration mode and very thankful we did this.
  3. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! Tell me and others......... what is it like???? I was too young to remember the 100's.......
  4. Welcome and congrats!!! Sounds like you're off to a great start!! Keep it up and stay around :-)
  5. Good morning........ I wanted to post a little thread about the #1 concern I'm asked from friends/family that tends to be a big concern for those pre-op banding also...... the liquid pre-op and post-op phase .......... People are most amazed to hear I've been on liquids for 5 weeks now...... 2 pre-op.... going on 3 weeks post op now...... and then the natural reaction is "how do you do that?" "don't you just crave and want to eat everything in sight?" "Aren't you hungry?" The answer is no!! I've read a couple posts this morning from new bandsters..... it breaks my heart to hear people struggling with the process. Unfortunate events this summer has allowed me to put this all in perspective. I had two very close people to me diagnosed with cancer and they're not expected to make it another year. To be honest I feel so foolish to whine about liquids for a small amount of time in my life. I've done, eaten, drank, and overeaten on everything I've ever wanted to in my life up to this point. I've made a decision to improve my life and I've accepted the SMALL sacrifices that have come with this to lead a healthy life. Life..... I have one when others are losing theirs..... The pre-op and post-op regime is soooo important to prepare your body for a new way of life. To come to terms and realign your priorities. To me it's more a mental game than anything. It is so easy to self sabotage your decision but I'm glad to see more and more people coming together for support!! It is all temporary..... the feelings, the angst, the doubts, the anxiety, the worries......... one day we will all look back at our former lives and cry..... to finally say goodbye to person so overcome by food that we couldn't enjoy our LIVES!!! Let's stick together and support each other....the beginning phases are so tough!! It's hard to give up the comforts of our prior existence...... but it wasn't a healthy comfort...... let's let it go and find out what's behind door #1......... I hear it's a lot of fun!! LOLOLOL I am so laughing at myself as I hop off the soap box.... "change your thoughts, change your life"......... you can do it, you will make your goal weight, you will shop in a normal clothes section, you will feel great, you will gain the strength to let go of your old self, you will conquer this journey and Celebrate......... believe it!!
  6. Wow!!! That is great!! And it's a grand inspiration to know that it is possible........ :-) Congrats!!!! What a dream come true!
  7. Dee Dee!! I want to hop in your truck...... I forgot about missy!!!!! Let's take a cruise
  8. Great question............... music is dear to me........ as I looked to see what was in my truck it's definitely a sign that I'm on the up and up of moods....... happy music lately....... Black Eyed Peas Janet Jackson 70's disco mix 80's butt rock mix LOL mixed cd with dance/r&b
  9. Welcome welcome!! I'm over in Idaho. I will keep a close eye on the events because I always need a good excuse to come play on Pike Street! :-)
  10. Ditto to Coyotegirl....... it was about two weeks before I woke up on my stomach. My back killed from being in one position then the headaches came cuz the back hurts....... it's all temporary and only makes you appreciate it much more when you're able to! The time will pass in no time..... Congrats and welcome
  11. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! This will be fun!
  12. Way to knock down the pounds. You're on the right path!! Doesn't it feel good!!! It's amazing to me how much better the weight loss itself feels than the desire to retreat back to old habits.
  13. Hey sexy thing :-) CONGRATS!!! WOW!!! That is fantastic and thanks for sharing the heartfelt moment. You should be soooo proud of yourself!!
  14. You took a great step by getting feedback here and the consensus being......NO!!! I don't know of any comforting words that will help but in my head I think.......... I've done and eaten whatever I've wanted for all my life....... positive choices are my life and sacrifice for the time being....... it's temporary..... you will get more choices soon enough..... you're health is much more important. I also keep thinking of the story that my doctor told me of an emergency surgery of a patient he did a week before me.... she went to tony roma's two weeks after surgery feeling fine and ended up calling an ambulance in the parking lot. To me it's putting your life on the line worse than the actual surgery and the embarassment of not sticking to the rules. :-( I know it's hard........ support support support.... that's what we're for!!!
  15. LOL Keep US updated...... wow, my little fingers are chaotic today..... btw, looks like you're already on the right path with your weight loss to date :-) DOING GREAT!
