  1. I've shed a tear or two...thousand today. I'm trying to be so calm and not directly blame anyone or go over their heads, but I think the stress/anxiety is finally catching up with me. Blahh! Lol I've shed a tear or two...thousand today. I'm trying to be so calm and not directly blame anyone or go over their heads, but I think the stress/anxiety is finally catching up with me. Blahh! Lol
  2. I am SO sorry. I hope they submit it tomorrow or ASAP! (((Hugs))) Believe you me I know how much this STINKS! Unfortunately, I've learned the hard way that I have to stay on top of them. Trust me, I wish more than anything I didn't have to. Today I got a call first thing from surgeon's office and coordinator said she " got to the bottom of the problem" the insurance wasn't accepting my psych evaluation as "mental clearance" because the psych didn't use those words...they've had this report for 4 months BEFORE submitting to insurance. You'd think they would make sure that all ducks were In a row before they sent stuff in, but sadly, she admitted that she didn't even read mine. I can't even IMAGINE what would be going on if I weren't on top of it.

  4. Happy Monday to me!...NOT. First call of the day was my coordinator advising that the insurance is stating that the psych evaluation is not considered "mental clearance" ay ay ay people! For the love. So, emailed the psych and asked her for a separate lettering that I indeed have the stinkin' mental clearance...although, I'm ABOUT to lose my mind so she better hurry before I no longer qualify! In the meantime...I'll just keep on keeping on.
  5. Awww! (((hugs))) I get it. This entire journey is a roller coasta' ride!
  6. See, that why I love this place! THANKS! I would have never thought of somethings not sitting well and then having to figure out what exactly it was. I'm still so new to this. Especially the part that all my tastes/ food tolerances will change Post Op. I can't wait to go to the 6 hour class where I'll finally be told what I should/shouldn't do for my program.
  7. Oh I've *totally* been *that* person and thank God I have! My surgeon's office continues to tell me one thing and then the insurance tells me a completely different thing...i.e. Missing paperwork, missing codes, etc every day it's something different. I have been given a tentative date for Nov 5, but as of Friday I still don't have an approval! Good thing is I can call my insurance's automated service and go thru the prompts and then decide if I want to speak to someone. I usually don't and just call again, but like I said every time I speak to them...there is an issue. You are your biggest advocate in this process. I say do what you feel is right. It's soooooooo annoying!
  8. Congratulations!!!!!! So exciting!!!!
  9. I'm ill. I called the coordinator at surgeon's office yesterday to set time for my apt on Monday and she advised she still didn't have the actual approval! WHAT!? I immediately called insurance and they confirmed that all missing items were indeed received, but they still had some questions for the surgeon. They even said they thought a Peer to Peer would help. I was devastated so I forward info to coordinator. As usual she called saying to disregard everything that insurance co said. She had confirmed that they had everything and was going to give them until next week to accept the "reconsideration" that there was no need for a PtoP yet. We just had to wait. That she still had me tentatively for the 5th, worse case scenario the 12th. Lord, deliver me. : (
  10. Hi! I'm wayyyy down south How far along are you on your journey? I just got my tentative date this week and am super excited! I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel.
  11. I'm thinking ahead here to my puree stage because honestly, this is the one that is freakin' me out a bit. I am planning on making the same baby food I made for both of my kids because it really was so stinkin' good. This is basically what I did- Boiled the following in a big pot: no salt chicken/beef/or veggie broth boneless skinless chicken breast sirloin steak with no fat broccoli cauliflower spinach pumpkin peas onions green peppers and whatever other non-starchy veggies I could find ( later on I would add potatoes, yams, and other root veggies) dry red Beans or black little bit of sea salt I would puree it all down to whatever consistency I wanted using reserved broth. To this now I will add Protein powder Do you think there is anything in this recipe that would not sit well in during my puree stage?
  12. Congrats on your surgery! That's awesome to hear that you are feeling well!
  13. Congrats on starting your journey, gwiggles333!!! Take that dates as soon as you can get 'em! Even if that means Friday the 13th! LOL There were days that it seemed as if I would *never* get a date much less have the surgery done and now I can honestly say I feel SO much better about the entire process. It really is not that bad, but the ADHD does *not* help
  14. Congrats, Cassie32104!!!! We are surgery sisters I agree, it comes out of nowhere and then I'm flooded with all these emotions. I am no longer anxious as I was when I was waiting for the approval I actually feel a big weight lifted off of my shoulders, funny thing is that now my husband says he is super anxious and he doesn't know why! LOL
  15. Yes! As if this entire process were not stressful enough..changing insurances after having Cigna (which we LOVE) for 20+ years does NOT make it any better. Tell her to just make sure she provides EXACTLY what they ask for and she will be fine. I have Cigna Acess Open Plus and my nutritionist said during the 3 months of supervised diet the only thing I couldn't do was GAIN ANY weight. I lost very little (like 5 lbs) and they were OK with that. Have you picked a Protein shake yet? I'm going to try the Premier ones first. I've been watching a LOT of youtube videos and that one gets mentioned a lot. I'm not even sure yet whether or not I have to do a pre-op liquid diet yet. My surgeon's office doesn't really give much instruction until AFTER you are approved. So I'm hoping to find all of this out at my tentative apt on Monday. As for the staples, with my both of my C-sections I had them removed and I can honestly say I didn't feel a thing. So you'll be fine I'm sure.
  16. EMOTIONAL?!?!? I found out yesterday, I've been working on the approval since April. I've been SO anxious to get a date (insurance changing in December) and now that I have it...I keep getting all teary-eyed and actually crying when I start to think about it. I'm not scared about the surgery or anything like that, but it's an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Does that make sense?
  17. Hi!!! YES! I did! I'm tentatively scheduled for NOVEMBER 5!!!!! yesterday Cigna advised that I was denied because they were missing two docs from my surgeon's office! One the surgeon didn't provide all information and the other was the psych clearance which I know they had. EXTREMELY frustrating since its out my hands AND as if December I won't have my current insurance any more! How are you doing? Are you still on liquids or puréed ? How's that going?
  18. The surgeon's office told me 10-15 business days or something crazy like that. But, I knew based on all of the comments here that it usually takes between 2-4 days. Cigna has an automated service that you can check the status of an approval so I did that...a lot. LOL I'm glad I did because that is how I found out I was "denied" based on missing info. The waiting game is THE worst! ugh!
  19. Sooo I got "the" call...Cigna called to say I was "DENIED" And here's the kicker...because the surgeon did not include the "codes for procedures" on his report AND they did not receive the psych evaluation. Immediately called surgeon's office and the coordinator there, Sara, God bless her, she assured me she was on it. I was a nervous wreck and started...crying She assured me all was well and I should be in there on Monday to schedule me for...November 5Th!!!! woot woot! I'm SOOO relieved! Now to start with the prepping!!!!
  20. I'm using Dr. Anthony Gonzalez, Baptist/S Miami Hospital, I should be getting my approval TODAY!!!! I can't wait! How are you doing?
  21. I am! I didn't think there was anyone else here from south Florida! Lol
