  1. Everyone loses weight differently. I was able to wear my pre op jeans for 7 weeks after surgery & then moved down a size. I've even heard of others losing up to 100lbs before needing to get smaller clothes.
  2. Increase water & salt. Try drinking a little bouillon or adding it to other broths you are drinking.
  3. Do you Pinterest? There are tons of WLS recipes on there & a lot of them look terrific.
  4. I have a trip to Cancun coming up in April that I am looking forward to & using as incentive to stay on track. I get to buy all new clothes for the trip & there is going to be a black tie dinner one night. I am 19 days post op today.
  5. I just got the call telling me to check in at 6:30 tomorrow morning..............OOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG this is REALLY happening!!! I just have to get through today without killing &/or maiming anyone
  6. I'm right there with you! I have my pre op tomorrow. Bring on the New Year!
  7. Good luck to today's Sleevers! I'm wishing you a speedy recovery.
  8. I'm joining the December party! I just got scheduled for the 31st. I'm terribly excited & getting nervous. I'm in Portland, OR
  9. It sounds to me like he is afraid of change. Just keep reassuring him, like Southern Sleever said, you will have lots of changes for a while but you will settle into a "new normal" & some of the changes may enhance his life too.
  10. I just got official approval & am scheduled for 12/31. I thought I would see if anyone else will be ringing in the new year from a hospital room with a new tummy
  11. IT'S OFFICIAL!! i HAVE APPROVAL & AM SCHEDULED FOR 12/31 LOL I will be ringing in the New Year with a new tummy!
  12. I still don't have a definitive answer but my doctor felt it went well enough to schedule me! ! ! ! My surgery date is 12/31 LOL not how I expected to spend the new year but I will take it.
  13. Good Luck! I think that it is always harder to cut back the second time. It's like you just don't have the same determinations.
  14. Please say a quick prayer or cross your fingers for me! My doctor has a peer to peer appeal scheduled for between 2 & 4 PST. I have done everything I was supposed to do at this point & I really want this surgery. Thanks!
  15. rking - I have been doing the liquid diet since Wednesday & I plan to request a gown for weighing in The surgeon had originally told me she would do everything possible to get my surgery done this year so I plan to remind them when I go in, being friendly of course.
  16. I need to vent. I started this process back in August knowing that my insurance (Cigna) required 89 days of supervised weight management. I went into the Drs office I choose, sat down with them & scheduled all my appointments in September with the scheduler. She set me up with 3 nutritionist appointments 9/8, 10/9, 11/13. I asked her if that was really enough & she assured me it was. STUPID of me not to count the days & have her add another appointment. Now my file has been submitted & I have been denied based on only doing 72 days of weight management. I will have to go back in next week, weight in at 2:30 pm instead of first thing in the morning like all my other appointments & my doctor has to schedule a peer to peer appeal. If I am over my starting weight she won't even bother with the appeal. I needed to get this done this year because I had already met my out of pocket max due to an injury. This process can take up to 3 weeks making getting done by the 31st almost impossible. I am so pissed off & frustrated.
  17. Good Luck to both of you! I hope everything goes very smoothly for you.
  18. Congratulations to both of you!!
  19. My doctor said it typically takes about 15 days but if you call & pester them it can be shorter
  20. I wouldn't wait, call & bug them. I plan to do this with my insurance company. My dr's office said they tend to respond faster when you are on them.
