  10. Do yourself a favor do not stress over what your friend said you will be able to eat anything you want after you had your healing time focus more on you and if your surrounded by temptation give it away throw it in the freezer if it can be frozen cupcakes freeze quite well... Or pitch it! Remember what your goal is right now and follow doc orders for prediet once you get the surgery done its a bit easier on you just wipe the gotta have it because i wont later out of your mind because its a lie. Good luck and huggs!!
  11. Hi kathy! Yeah definitely a learning curve...no matter all the information the medical staff gives you and we KNOW better because of that info.. Experience tends to throw us off a little. I found some smaller glass bowls at good will yesterday yay!!
  12. Bella, you seem to grasp my issue best lol! Yeah its definitely a work in progress. My friend is even finally coming to terms with it...he likes to push food when im hanging out with him...so far best way for me is distracted eating where preportioned (no red meat now much as i like it its gotta go) food is in a bowl i grab a bite n go do something or read a book with bowl just beyond reach so i have to look....im sure its gonna keep evolving as the weeks go on! And being honest with myself about food... Keeping my friend in line too about food lol im thinking when i get down to his weight hes going to turn it into a competition to lose some more which is about 45 lbs away....

  16. I do have a scale that is no issue i think its because red meat is way denser than chicken or fish i precut everything too into small bites (pea sized)... I havent really felt hungry at all since the op ( that is a big blessing) and i keep mealtime to about 15 min so proper portioning is critical...and Im on the go more. Found out depending on how its cooked bacon is the only one that can make me sick just by eating it....dry cook it im fine, wet cook its too much grease and i get sick. Drinking has become finally easier that was a major issue.. i was eating more jello and pudding then because i could swallow that better, which is weird.
  17. Woot awesome! ???????????? keep it up!
  18. Hi all I got sleeved September 29, 2015. Losing weight and finally starting to show it! I wore pants yesterday that i had bought 5 yrs ago as a one of these days apparel... I have one more pair of pants that is a few sizes smaller that is the same category of one of these days..... Incentive there! One of the big issues im having still is misjudging portions....another im having is medical and is linked to the reason why i had the sleeve procedure done. When i misjudge i feel really uncomfortable and purge instead of dealing with it and risking having my stomach expand... And it seems i misjudge the most on red meats... No i dont purge everyday its when i have misjudged... One of my friends told me i should talk to the doc about it, i dont see why i should its my own dumb fault to begin with...and yeah im still working on hitting the right amount in my bowl, ( i dont do plates anymore) and one ounce of red meat is more than one ounce of chicken. I am going to see if i can stick to halving the half portion that i take... Just have to keep the unpleasant feeling i get when too full in mind.. The other issue is back n spinal cord related... Seems true exercise is on hold until my weight evens out... My sciatica is back to the point where my physical therapy tech canceled the appt. i had because instead of improving i was going the opposite direction. Ah well such is life for now but it will not stop me from stretching everyday that keeps me going! Lol. How are you guys doing in relation to my experience? Just curious.

  26. Huggs that swelling sucks major in the legs.... I just finally got that down to having small amount in morning the past two days and that resolved quickly after moving around.. My surgery was 9/29 and i could swear that the hospital tied 20lb bags of potatoes around all my limbs when i got out making everything so hard to move...and that is the main key no joke move those legs even if you just alternated tightening and releasing the muscles over and over... The tummy pain i still have that myself right at belly button and right side been trying to apply same idea of just tightening and releasing the muscles as you can... I have additional back issues which now making good posture rather tough i was relying on my tummy muscles before surgery so be aware of the pain levels do not overdo it moving cause it can bite you back and above all keep sipping i am still doing clear since it seems my stomach is still not quite ready for next step in foods... Huggs! Hope my current experience helps you out!
  27. I personally dont have dentures though would think that dicing foods to tiny pieces and avoiding forks may help? Just a thought.
  28. I would think so with stretching... I blame grade school for fast eating habits being learned.. One way to eat slower i found is baby spoons.... The smaller the spoon the better!! then get in habit of only filling it halfway and try to make it last about two or three "bites".... Im planning on predicing solids when i get to it and avoid forks at all costs!
  29. Anybody ask their doc about it? I would think that it would make a nice addition for flavor to shakes and foods. The brand im looking at is PB2 made by bell serving size is 2 tbsp at 45 cal 13 cal being fat Protein 5g, total carb 5g, Fiber 2g, sugar 1g Input by all is welcome...lol i had just rediscovered the jar i had gotten last month to try before surgery, because to me its a new thing and remember that i had thoughts of making something like a crust for chicken after tasting it. Regular Peanut Butter is on the no no list from the wlc around here.. Definitely making a note to ask at my next appt.

  31. Havent really tried for protein yet after having some nausea after mixing 1 part strained or pureed peas with water and 3 parts water im not quite ready for full liquids yet... It is getting easier to drink water though i did what is considered a no no by using a straw... I was putting too much air in stomach not using a straw Resulting in alot of burping. I now having alot less burping and not really passing gas much the other way i am waiting for it...
