My name is Kristen and I live in New Hampshire. I had the Sleeve Gastrectomy surgery 2 weeks ago. My surgeon is Dr. David Gould with Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Manchester, NH. He has done 100's of the sleeve surgeries.
In the last 2 weeks I have lost 15 lbs. on surgery day, I weighed 291 lbs. I am now down to 276 lbs. I have had no complications and I have been able to eat and drink everything on the Phase 2 diet with no issues as I measure everything and haven't strayed from the foods (soup, cream of wheat, protein shakes, yogurt, sugar free pudding etc.) I am supposed to eat. I have had no nausea and vomiting and no pain. I've started a light walking routine.
I did the surgery because I have not been able to lose weight on my own. I had roller coaster weight losses and gains between 50 and 70 lbs, which is not healthy. I have had no health issues and did this surgery to prevent illness in the future. I am 44 years old.
Next summer I'm hoping to try Kayaking for the first time and I also want to ride a bike again. I'm also looking forward to wearing lighter clothing and feeling cooler as I am miserable in the summer right now.
I look forward to reading the blogs and posts within this app to learn from others. :-)
