  1. I was just wondering how you were doing! Glad to hear things are good!
  2. My dr is not making me do a two week diet, just a diet the day before. I've been eating really healthy smaller portions the past week (my surgery is a week from tomorrow). However I've gained 2 pounds. I am due to start my period in 9 days. This is about the time I add on those 2-4 extra pounds and they immediately drop after I start my period. I am so afraid if I don't drop them my dr won't do surgery Wednesday as planned. Maybe I'm being paranoid but I'm stressing over here. Thinking maybe I should do a one week liquid diet.
  3. How much weight did you lose on the pre-op liquid diet? What was your weight when you started the diet?
  4. I'm pretty sure my surgeon said the gallbladder medicine he prescribed for post op is liquid. I'm gonna be really bummed if it's a pill I'm gonna have to crush. I'll find out Thursday when I go pick up all my prescriptions.
  5. San Bernardino, CA. Surgery October 21
  6. What all should I pack in my hospital bag? I'm not packing just yet but I'm gonna start gathering the things I need.
  7. I am so excited surgery is 10 days away. I've been prepping for it all weekend. I've been making freezer meals for my family, doing the extra deep cleaning, getting all my post op supplies, ordered all of my prescriptions, refilled all my daughters diabetic supplies, finished up a couple of sewing projects. I feel like I am preparing well, but I'm so afraid I'm gonna miss something. What are y'all doing to prepare?
  8. I have kaiser and I was told in order for the insurance to cover the surgery we had to be two years successful post-op and we had to have a rash or some other condition caused by the excess skin. I heard on the radio the other morning Kaiser lost a class action lawsuit. now they have to pay for removal of excess skin after bariatric surgery. Apparently by them not paying for that, they were violating state law. I haven't had surgery yet, I'm a week and a half away from my surgery date. But if I have excess skin I'll be inquiring about plastic surgery.
  9. I only have to do liquids the day before surgery. No other special pre-op diet
  10. i assume I would find out on Tuesday when I meet with the surgeonHow did it go?
  11. The only food funeral I had was I made a small thanksgiving dinner for my family (I have 5 kids so no meal is really small around here, lol!) we had turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole and candied yams. I did not eat a lot. I had a good amount of Turkey and a small scoop of everything else. I made the kids and the husband pie but I didn't have any. Thanksgiving dinner has always been one of my favorites, I'll be 1 month post-op around thanksgiving so I wanted to enjoy it before surgery. I don't allow myself to over eat anymore. I know it's bad, I never feel good afterwards, and I know over eating is what got me in the position. If I crave something I have a bite or two then throw it in the trash. The hardest thing for me to give up was soda. I don't even miss that anymore.
  12. My surgery is scheduled for October 21st. In 6 months I've lost 20 pounds. I only have to do the pre-op diet one day prior to surgery. However I put myself on a low carb and low fat, high protein diet starting today, 16 days before surgery.
  13. How long were you in the hospital? My surgeon said as long as everything is good I should only be there 24 hours. However I'm seeing a lot of people say they stayed 2+ days...
  14. I hung on to somethings I know I can alter as I shrink. There were a few things I kept for before and after pictures as well.
  15. When is your surgery? I also have smaller clothes from years ago when I lost a lot of weight the same way as you. I've hung on to those clothes. I have plenty of transition clothes from sizes 2x all the way down to mediums.
  16. I have Kaiser. I started this process back in mid-March! My surgery date is October 21st! I had to take weekly classes for 12 weeks, go to one mandatory support group (which I love and continue to attend, I recommend it to everyone), I've had various appts with my bariatric team, had two appts with my surgeon, and a psych evaluation. It has gone very fast! I'm excited and wishing these last 16 days would move a little quicker.
  17. I am 16 days pre-op. It's starting to cool down here. Today I decided I would go thru all my clothes and get rid of my summer clothes. By next summer I plan on being in something much smaller. Anyone else throwing out there summer stuff already?
  18. I suggest speaking with your bariatric team and seeing about finding a counselor to help you figure out what's triggered the eating and help you get back on track.
  19. My surgeon told me no travel outside of our area for 6 weeks.
  20. We share the same surgery date and I'm also a Texas girl living in California! Lol!No way that's awesome.
